Hi guys just want to confirm with you tech sifu's here. Currently from my room using wifi i can get the full 100mbps from my 100mbps package only on my computer. But with my phone, only can get about 40 mbps despite sitting at the exact same spot.
But my parent on the ground floor their ipad and phone only getting about 11-15 mbps. Just want to confirm if i buy this unifi mesh wifi for them will their speed increase? Also increase by how much if the answer is yes?
Bcs i am curious how come my phone could only get 40mbps but pc can get full 100mbps despite both being on wifi and on the same spot?

So far so good here

Do you guys happen to know what could be causing my Internet to keep losing connection frequently? I called tm they already did something on their side but still same. They want to send technician over but the covid cases in my area is high so not really keen on them coming over.

your disconnection is from modem or router?
*
Sorry I also don't know this. But I when the dc happens I see router lights either
1.1st light from left blinking then the 3 other light slowly appeared.
2. First 3 lights from left are on but the 4th light is red. For this case need to turn off router and modem manually then only it get solved.

For me, it was my router's fault. The TP Link AC1200. It keeps restarting on it's own and DC around 8PM and 2AM in the morning. I changed my router already. Hopefully it will not happen after this. If you use the same router as mine previously, I suggest you change to another router.
*
Yes I am using that router that you mention. Can I just buy a better one from tm then they come and fix and install??
Bcs the IT shops near my house all unfriendly money face people, don't want to do business with them.

err buying from TM again is like you're back to square one

No other shops nearby? Or buy online? Or you are afraid you are not familiar with setting up the router?

I suspect the ac adapter is not good. Please try with other ac adapter with same voltage rating, current rating can be about the same or higher.

Yes, you can buy a new router through TM for RM188 without any contract renewal. But the type of router is given randomly depending on the stock available in an area.

The type of router that will be given to you through randomly

NETIS DL4480V (Unifi firmware)
AZtech DS244WSGV (Unifi firmware)
TP-LINK Archer C1200 (Unifi firmware)
TP-LINK Archer C6 (TP-Link firmware)
D-LINK DIR-842 (Unifi firmware)
D-LINK Covr-1100 (D-Link firmware)
D-LINK DIR-825M (D-Link firmware)
fiberhome sr120-a (Fiberhome firmware)
ZTE Unknown model (ZTE firmware)

I suggest you buy a router from outside

I recommend you if you buy through Shopee or Lazada if you can wait a bit. I bought TP Link AX20 at Shopee to replace the router and it works fine for now and speed still remains the same but it's a bit stable and it's also Wifi 6. If you don't want to spend much on router, AX20 is already enough if you're planning to change it. I really don't recommend you to change through TM as people already mentioned it, their router is a bit 'kayu' and the same thing may happen again. Just buy outside TM.

Thanks everyone for replying, too many people to quote.
I will buy myself since everyone recommend it. But me and my entire family are not tech savy people, so installing it will be a problem if need to do a lot of things..

Surprised that all the routers tm are selling are not up to standard...

Could it be your power adapter? Try finding another with similar voltage

Do you guys happen to know know any physical shop that sell this kind of power adapter?? I check Harvey Norman and mrdiy website they don't have this kind of adapter. Don't want to order from online where I have to waste 2-5 days or more to get it..

Also the new power adapter I notice it is warm, is this normal or its my power supply problem??

Usually when I call them up to tell them I can't enter some sites they do something that will work for a day and back to some problem...

if you pay them sure they change for you.

btw... change dns resolver is very easy... go youtube or google search for tutorial it could be done in minutes.

QUOTE(jhleo1 @ Nov 14 2021, 01:00 PM)
What you meant paid? If monthly unifi fee then other services like settings to your equipment all excluded. Google to find out how to DIY better than pay RM50 per visit to solve your issues.
*
in case this is not the issue but something else? Bcs I see many people on ipv6 also but I don't see them complaining they having trouble entering websites..

Yes .. if you've shared your wifi password with him. You should be able to login to your router and see connected devices.
*
lol even in my own house some parts can't get strong signal but my neighbours house can receive my signal?
Yes he does have my phone number so if he wants to use my wifi it's possible since my password is the default password.
To change my password I have to go to some website consist of numbers right if I'm not mistaken?
