A few days back, I live chat unifi asking for 300mbps offers. Today, I receive a call from TM with offering for 300mbps @ RM159 (before SST) with 600minutes free calls + 2 units of TP Link M4 mesh, without Unifi PlayTV.
I thought TM won't give any offer since my contract still has 1-year-and-9-month time.
Does anyone think this offer acceptable/attractive? BTW, downgrade within contract is not allowed.
*
Right...thats the same package I was offered as well, wished they would have changed the while hypptv box to Plus box (black 4k). That is another addition of 20 bucks/month.

Anyone know how to get Unifi to change my modem & router to a new one?
I asked Unifi, if I subscribe new plan, can change or not. They said no.

I am using RG-DLINK-WBR2300, damn old Router. Recently Wi-Fi having much issue.

Recently due to Covid-19, even RM200 ~ RM300 also quite hard to fork out, to buy a new router myself. So just asking if can get a free one.

If file complaint WiFi got issue, ask them come to my house to check. If they check router really got issue. Any chance they will replace for free?

They will be willing to replace if you are willing to go on another 24 months contract with them. If I were you, I will save and buy my own though eventually.

Yes they will give you 2 selection
1. Charge your next bill for new router. Not sure how much.
2. FOC router with starting 2 years locked contract period.

Best choice is getting own router rather than using tm stock router.

Successfully downgraded from 300Mbps (in contract) ~RM115 to 30Mbps RM89. Thought cannot downgrade within contract. Internet rarely used.
*
Better check your next bill. I smell penalty coming, as mentioned in their terms, downgrading within contract will incur charges.

Yes they will change with 2 more years contract or charge the router pricing to your bill.

Hey guys, just noticed tm start installing fiber cables outside my house area (finally after 15 years)

Wondering if can subscribe to broadband by other telco or just unifi only once tm finished installing them

Seems like cheaper packages at higher speed are only offered for existing customers

IINM if downgrade within contract will incur penalty

Where did you downgrade it and the person who attended you did not mention about penalty?

It's stated in Unifi FAQs that upgrade/downgrade is allowed with a renewal of 24-month contract.

I have several questions

1) Does Unifi has contract like 1 year/2 year
Or can I cancel anytime? Use 1 month then cancel also can?

2) How much bandwidth should I need for 720p and 1080p and 4k youtube/netflix
There is choice of 30mbps, 100mbps, 300mbps

3) The advertisement say premium entertainment if I pay more. What is the premium entertainment, is it netflix, astro or other?

4) What is wifi mesh and wifi booster? Are they useful?

1) 2 years contract, with you need to pay the reminding months left if you cancel early.

2) 100Mbps to be safe.

3) Premium entertainment is UnifiTV.

4) WiFi mesh and WiFi booster help to increase coverage,”. I would recommend mesh over booster.

you can transfer your unifi to new house without cost and penalty.
But my phone number changed after i transferred.
No idea whether you can remain the same number or not.

I accepted the offers when they called me on Wednesday, sounded attractive.
After some thinking, I just want the speed but not really need it, mesh is not required since not a big house.
Live Chat to them to cancel the upgrade offers, although it's just RM30/month. At this pandemic time, better spend wisely.

yes you can keep the existing phone number, as long as it does not exceed other zones

It depends how many devices connected. 1-3 devices for 1080p still no problem imo. If more den can go higher. Also, u can upgrade to ax router for larger coverage on 5ghz
