The question is will TM roll that out to all subscriber eventually?

Upgrading plan would restart the 24 months contract  bangwall.gif
*
Might be, after complete with all the low tier subscribers then proceed to those 300Mbps plan and above. This is done because the IPV4 address pool is being exhausted. That is why TM is implementing CGNAT. It is expensive to get a new IPV4 address pool so save cost using CGNAT.

p2p with ipv6 does exist though it was still rare

Seldom peerers enable ipv6.
We cannot rely on the ipv6 to get good download speed.
Bottomline public ip still the best to go.

If ur that determined then, then use vpn with portfoward or specificly pay isp for public ip like business plan, Most good seeders are ald dualstacked and world will migrate to ipv 6 soon so it will be just pain for transition for now

IPv6 still got a long way to go... At least 3-5 years later as China is now strongly improving their IPv6 network. And because of CGNAT introduces, the IPv6 adoption is slower than estimated.
So unless US and EU start fully pushing IPv6 otherwise the ipv6 still need years to go.
And also most server hosting company still didn't care about IPv6 as for now.

If you are that worried of your security, get the TP-Link or Asus routers that have built in security features. That is the best alternative if you are not a technical person.

the fixed ip packages should be for business plan that come with fixed ip address.

300mbps or higher consumer plan will get a dynamic ipv4 address.

Fixed IP address mean even after reboot or any setting change, the ip of the unifi service is the same. (Should be a optional add-on for business plan with RM XXX per month?)

I'm not intimidated. It's just the fact that I was not aware that my newly-installed unifi have world-reachable public IP before this morning. I ticked allow https access to gateway from internet, and was able to from a mobile line.
Now that I am aware, it's time to beef its security layers to more than just a meager DIR-830M.
*
That's... one of the good selling point of Unifi though compared to for example Maxis.

Not necessary if you're not opening/forwarding ports (like he was trying). And if you are port forwarding, then there's really nothing your router can do since you're explicitly allowing traffic in to your machine.

ipv6 support for ipv6 supported device example router is still poor, latest AX router block router ipv6 remote control for security reason and not configurable, while Streamyx Era ipv6 supported router can be accessed via ipv6.

most if not all customer grade router DDNS client would only update IPv4 Dynamic IP, would not update IPv6 Dynamic IP even if the provider support AAAA record IPv6, example noip.com support free ddns services and free AAAA record IPv6. noip.com even have a Dynamic DNS Update Client (DUC) for Windows (there is also linux and mac client) version 4.1.1 compile date 21 ‎January, ‎2016 modified 21 ‎December, ‎2017 that would not update IPv6 Dynamic IP.

QUOTE(soonwai @ Oct 12 2021, 11:49 PM)
Does your DDNS service provide/update AAAA records for IPv6?

Anyway it should work. Basically every device on your LAN that has IPv6 will be accessible from the internet. Not necessarily a good thing so ensure your router's firewalls are up to snuff.

Here, https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=88431256 , I tested using IPv6 to connect to my iPhone which was running a http server. And it works.

QUOTE(chongaik82 @ Oct 13 2021, 01:09 AM)
Not a very technical person. To check is my DDNS Provider (am using Asus DDNS) provide AAAA. I should use nslookup? I checked using www.nslookup.io, No AAAA records found.

My Asus Router is my VPN Server, i tried to connect (client) using my iPhone with UMobile and public WiFi (Tung Shin Hospital, provider also TM but i am not sure did Tung Shin Hospital enable IPV6). Both network (UMobile and Public Wifi) unable reach my Asus router/VPN Server (i checked the log).

If i understand your explanation correctly. My iPhone should be able to reach Asus router/VPN Server because UMobile also support IPV6. However, that is not the case today.

One more point is that from iPhone (using OpenVPN APP), i can see it is keep trying to connect using IPV4.

Are there any unifi agents here?

Looking to apply a new subscription but when i tried on the website/call centre...they don't really understand the concept of a townhouse and thus rejected my application cos the unit downstairs X-1 (i'm X-2) is already subscribed.

Another reason they gave is that there's no port. So i'm not sure which is which.

I see, that's good to know. I'm also using the free ddns that came with my router. Luckily it updates both A and AAAA records. But cannot choose nice subdomain like Asus can. To workaround that, I CNAME a subdomain of my own to the DDNS.
