Having a public ip address does not mean it is not secured,u just need to confirm the router got protection or not.
Earlier TM supplied router will have the same Administrator credentials,and also enable the TR069 for TM to remote access your router.
and second some router that could not have the latest firmware update will might having the vulnerability to be attack by attackers or hack by hacked.
Newer and better router will have the ability or had patched to prevent the attacks.
Similar to Wi-Fi vulnerability which come out in last 2 years, i think most user does not upgrade their router firmware or could not upgrade due to the router company didn't make the new firmware for it.

Should be same,and it does not mean u cant connect to others peers,just mean that there will be alot of limitation to connnect to the torrenting network.
Which will causing less peer connected and might get lower download speed.

For public torrent, i think still can download but speed will be much slower.

If u get private ip , no peerer connection.
That's what situation I get during streamyx with private ip.
U are alone at tracker.

Hi, I'm planning to relocate my UniFi service. I was told I could do this nowadays remotely on the myUniFi app without having to walk in to TmPoint.

But the catch is I won't be able to choose the telephone number. If we walk in to TmPoint we can request for number tender. Is there someone who can help kowtim this for me?

Ah yes,i just tried again with my VM to simulate the Double NAT situation.
I using bittorrent,and it got the p2sp network for non port forward able to download the file.
And without port forwarding,the torrent peers does not have any peers connected,only can download with p2sp peers.
But after port forwarding enable,the torrent peers start having peers connected.

if want public IP, then no choice have to upgrade to 300mbps

i can torrent no problem i use utorrent noting problem because i still on Public IP not yet Private IP

I'm not intimidated. It's just the fact that I was not aware that my newly-installed unifi have world-reachable public IP before this morning. I ticked allow https access to gateway from internet, and was able to from a mobile line.
Now that I am aware, it's time to beef its security layers to more than just a meager DIR-830M.

I think you still have to go to TMpoint if you wish to maintain the number. Agents usually only do new sign up.

If you are that worried of your security, get the TP-Link or Asus routers that have built in security features. That is the best alternative if you are not a technical person.

The question is will TM roll that out to all subscriber eventually?

Just monitor from time to time ya. I was assigned with CGNAT IP yesterday, while two hours before was clearly assigned with public IP (verified wheh I carried network maintenance at home).

p2p with ipv6 does exist though it was still rare
