I was offered by TM unifi (via their calling me ) yesterday and I took up their offer immediately.

Subject: Enquiry about Porting out my current unifi 100Mbps to Digi Home Fibre 300Mbps

Dear customer service,

Account No : 10xxxxxxx
Unifi Plan : unifi 100Mbps Turbo Deal 2019

I was approved by Digi for a switch to their Digi Home Fibre (300Mbps) for RM100 and was provided with a transfer request ID that I must give to TMpoint within 10days. Before I go to TMPoint, I would like enquire about the followings:

1. What is the contractual expiry date of my current plan?

2. I was informed that Unifi does offer discounted rate for existing customer. I would like to know what is the best offer you can provide me @ 300Mbps?
Eg, RM 159 for 300mbps + Mesh , No Unifi TV

Looking forward to your reply

But what change your mind to pay more for 300mbps? RM139 versus RM100 for the same dl/ul speed.

With RM139, you can get Time 500mbps, with higher upload speed as well. Isn't that a better deal compare to Unifi?

Because digi's fibre doesnt provide public IP. With private IP, I cant do port forwarding for my smart home systems, cctv, vpn etc.

Heya folks, just upgraded to Unifi 800Mbps, still, does anyone who is on the subscription experiencing less than promised download speed?
By that I mean not getting maximum download speed on Steam.

Edit: Got a new router to handle the connection speed, and using a LAN cat-6 cable here.

becos they have limited allocation for IP address. hence unable to fulfill most user who asking public ips.

Allo
Digi
Celcom

plus current IPs pricing are quite costly.

what your speedtest to TM site?

if your speedtest at TM is full speed then no issue at your backend.

Thanks for info. So no way to request public IP?

Not all. Maxis and Celcom can request for public IP after installation.

I did ask if they can assign public ip for me.

Digi's response:
"I'm so sorry sir, as for now we can't assign for public IP"

If this is true, then the two ISPs which I do not recommend to subscribe is Allo Broadband and Digi Fibre.
While Celcom fibre is not sure whether they offer Public IP or not.

Yes they offer upon request. Then again if you are just streaming or browsing, private IP is not an issue. Only those who are dealing with port forwarding or on some games, will need public IP.

Usually nothing I’ve tried has ever given me full 800mbps besides speedtests.

PlayStation is also capped at 300mbps for me

The only exception I found is Microsoft that can download at 800mbps and upload at 200mbps

My Microsoft office downloaded within seconds

That is kinda expected for places such as Steam

Because the files it's downloading are compressed, it has to extract the files too, which takes your cpu time to do so
Plus steam has to serve other users too so they wont let like a gigabit user use up all of the bandwidth
