I'm moving to residential house, TM said no port fr Fibre. Now considering Unifi Air. Go TM Point register - is the device immediate? Or they will still have to post to house? If so, anybody can advise how long? Thanks!

Cannot. I asked the sales team and they said you can just keep the mesh because it is given free.

You can go nego with agent or Tmpoint. Sometimes they will use splitter to add more port from existing port.

Before you sign up, check if Unifi has good coverage in your new housing area. The sim card can get immediately. Device will depend on stock in Tmpoint, if no stock I suggest you just sign up without device and buy own modem.

Should note that there's a limit on how many splitters they can use before the signal gets unusable, so if your area is already heavily split then there's not much they can do unless they drag another new cable.

If they do it anyway, request the technician to check the reading before installing, if it's around the 25 to 26dbm range it's bad and should not proceed, you will have connection issues.

Can give model humber?
This modem isn't listed on Unifi's page but I think I've seen this modem some pages back

Edit, found it, post #2233, but even odder, as they have a Huawei modem with FibreHome router...

So new modem? Cost cutting?

Well, it is a Chinese brand and that's about it in terms of info.
They specialize in making these

Brand name wise there's not much to say, they're definitely not as well known as say, Huawei.

Just hope it works I suppose.
Technically you can replace the ONT on your own but you will have to reconfigure...
If it works I guess you just leave it be.

Technically, you can't change modems so easily,
Because the modem needs to enter the ID and password to access to the FDC used in that area.
The ID and password can only be accessed by TELEKOM MALAYSIA in the area

Agree with this. Also be prepare to wait a long long time if they need to pull new cable, unless that taman has like 10 more new people want to subscribe.

Is there a difference between the ONU/BTU in terms of performance or reliability? Mine is the silver Alcatel box if I am not mistaken, and I am thinking of upgrading my plan, I wonder if that BTU/ONU will be changed, or should I request for it to be changed if or when I do upgrade the plan.

My current plan is 500, so the modem does support above those speeds.

Hello everyone! Today for the first time my YouTube is starting to suffer on mobile and tv too. Connection speeds to YouTube are around 300kbps while Speedtest to local servers still 800mbps

Is anyone having issues with YouTube too? Ipv6 didn’t seem to do anything, still lags extensively

Thumbnails and profile pictures are not loading now too

Already reported to that mr karpal Singh ex department (forgot name lol) but still no news from them or tm
