TM just remotely turned on the 5ghz wifi on my Netis router, TR069 is real lol

yes i  call and sms to the installer he juz ignore.when he is setting i already ask and he give so much excuses say will need multiple login la blablabla....

all becoz i spoiled his plan to cheat extra money for free installation.

i go thru tm live to get my unifi user and password, juz now try a few combo and manage to go in finally...seem like he chg word from A to a ...

TM is now install DIR-830M wifi router for residential. Any thoughts and comments about this model?

Thanks for your reply man, even with good router, what’s the idea speed that’s acceptable? In addition, how about the direct LAN speed? 600 mbps download is reasonable? I am expecting an stable 700 mbps and above download speed though😂

Sorry for having so many question, I live in a town that only have 8mbps streamyx and just recently open for my shop to upgrade to a 800mbps unifi🤣

My modem and router are both showing red light (los). Usually I live chat with unifi support and a simple on-off reset will fix the issue but apparently that didn't work this time. She said she will call technicians to come within a few days. I guess my fibre wire or something outside the house is damaged? Is this a serious issue?

I see... yesterday I received a sms saying they will resolve my issue within the next working day but as of now I haven't been contacted by the technicians.. is the sms even accurate? Any experience?

Ok la, the unifi installer is very friendly to be honest, he is just relaying what the tm technician told him to. I still give their service a 10 out of 10 and I can see the effort he puts in to solve the problem. I have updated the outcome in previous post, I have a strong hunch it’s tm technician side doing something with my port hence I am not getting optimal speed at the beginning. Thanks for the advice man, will definitely try your suggestion upon receiving my M9 plus mesh.

I'm not intimidated. It's just the fact that I was not aware that my newly-installed unifi have world-reachable public IP before this morning. I ticked allow https access to gateway from internet, and was able to from a mobile line.
Now that I am aware, it's time to beef its security layers to more than just a meager DIR-830M.

Sorry, couldn't spend the time to read thru 100+ pages, how's the user experience of unifi?

Rant, skip if you prefer:
I'm from Muar Johor, was on TM streamyz 5Mbps few years ago, terminate it due to very slow speed--in xxx kilobit/sec at peak hour or cloudy day, worst, connection lost when raining. Change to 4G mobile of digi 3 years ago, did have improvement over streamyz but now its the same situation as streamyz 3 years ago. Can't watch YT @ 720p at peak hour, downloading from GD or updating Windows take forever, disconnection when raining.

Is this normal for internet of rural Malaysia using mobile connection?  what can I expect if I switch to unifi 100Mbps? Also, I read the first post, is triple play really a must? I saw the 100Mbps is data only.

My only requirement is stable speed >20Mbps at all time. Please advise. BTW, my location is "Taman Sri 3, Bakri, Muar", Unifi official please verify is my area covered. TIA.

Does anyone know how to remove the "@unifi" suffix from the FiberHome SR1041Y model? Found some past posts but they're mostly for TP-link routers. Can't seem to find any firmware for this model.
