Hello all, not sure if this is the right place to ask do forgive me if it isn’t. I have a Standard Persona 2019. I was unimpressed with the audio quality so I am making it a hobby to upgrade my stereo. However there is just too many options and I need help on a few aspects.

My situation
-No rear Speaker (not available on variant)
-Car still under warranty
-No sound treatment yet

My aim:
-Keep the stock non-touch screen head unit
-Focusing on clarity and staging.
-Medium to slighty loud listening volume.

What I have in my shopping cart
-Edifier CW810 (Sub)
-8 inch Active Subwoofer
-Power Input: DC 11v-16v
-Has amplifier circuit

-Focal 165 AS Access (Front)
-6.5”
-Component Speakers
-RMS60 watts
-Comes with crossovers

-Edifier S651A
-6.5”
-Coaxial
-Power rated at 50watts

My concerns:
1. Do I need amplifiers/dsp for the four speakers?
2. Is the subwoofer enough to reproduce good low end?
3. The sub has on board amp, do I still need a monoblock?
4. Will any of the needed process void my warranty?
6. Do you know any accessories shop with good installation practice?
7. Anything else I need to know?

Rear Speaker you can actually transfer the front Original set to rear if you plan to save some money and seldom fetch passenger at rear.

Then Soundproof the door panel will improve the bass tighter as well.

By the way why not spend some on a better HU with Reverse Camera + Android Auto/Apple Carplay? << I think this is more essential and a good one they often came with output for Sub

By the way my setup for same car is :-
1. Move Ori front speaker to rear
2. Change HU to Sony XAV AX100 with 55W max output and RMS 25W
3. Add a decent RM150 Sony rear cam
4. Change front speaker to DB Drive ESC 3 Component comes with crossover
5. Sound Proof Door Panel.

As you notice I do not have any amp and subwoofer, bass wise was acceptable to me since I'm no bass head.

The Focal Set you picked is one of my option back then, but I ended with DB Drive out of curiousity

My concerns:
1. Do I need amplifiers/dsp for the four speakers?
you need to check if your HU (Head Unit) has speaker out for rear or not.
If proton cheap out, may not have. Go ask at the persona forums.

Anyhow, you will need amp to drive the Focals. Focals are notorious for needing large amounts of power to sound their best.
Else choose a cheaper/ more sensitive speaker, like Morel or hertz., then you can skip the amp for now.
You not changing your HU anyway, so SQ improvement is marginal at best, and dropping in a focal may not be a good choice.

2. Is the subwoofer enough to reproduce good low end?
Any subwoofer is better than nothing.
we can recommend the sky, but what you get depends on your budget.

3. The sub has on board amp, do I still need a monoblock?
Nope.

4. Will any of the needed process void my warranty?
Maybe, maybe not. You have to Ask your SA.

6. Do you know any accessories shop with good installation  practice?
KF Audio at Aman Suria, or EA Autoworks at Bukit Jalil

7. Anything else I need to know?
As they say, "Crap in, Crap out". Please do not upgrade to just use bluetooth to play mp3.
Use "wired 3.5mm" or "USB" and FLAC files.

Normal Upgrade path :
Head Unit > front speakers > front amp > front sound proofing > subwoofer > whole car soundproof.
Any other path will produce sub-par results, period.

Thanks for the comment. Zero5177 gave some good cost saving measures. So now I’m considering moving the stock speakers to the back, and using the extra budget to change my HU. So now my setup looks like:

-Kenwood DDX6016BT
-50w x 4 output

-Hertz DCX165.3 (Front)
-Coaxial
-peak 120w
-Continuous 60W

Stock speakers (Back)

I’m guessing the 60W is a bit on the higher side, so I’m going to need a 2 channel amp.

Leon 2 channel, class AB amplifier.

haha, much better =D

I'd recommend a 2 way front speaker, and mount the tweeter on top of dashboard, at the sides.

just to high light a few

1. OEM proton headunit has a very high treble boost. Choose your speaker wisely
2. Changing headunit make the sounds become standard, but then the various option between features vs sound is complicated to choose from, and of course a good 1 will cost the whole setup cost from your list.
3. if the features of the oem headunit is okay, there's always another way to just upgrade the sound, before you made up your mind which headunit you will be going after since it is the interface you gonna deal with daily.
