This is not issue, for them it is the nature of premium tires. Coz in order to get comfort and better braking distance your rubber compound need to be soft, then softer material will be easier to chip wear off. If you dont want to see this condition, just buy those cheap budget tires from Indonesia or Thailand where the rubber compound is harder and you will know the disadvantage (which is opposite of what premium tires does).

But the breakages is abnormal, it chips off by chunks

I have used from Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental & even Yokohama tires also same. Ask tires shop, luckily is my best friend he told me treads are made to wistand the harse road condition if still within safety limit just use it unless got serious crack on the side wall or inner treads (long deep cracks). The rubber only chips off on the edge and not whole tire piece drop off and below still got so many layers (do you know how thick is the treads?!?) before consider dangerous to drive.

If you never been in track/gymkana racing, those chip off are nothing and mostly driven until tread near finish (reach safety level) and change. FYI, in order the tire to be in dangerous or burst usually is either over or under air pressure, tread wear finish until can see the metal mesh (that is the most dangerous limit) as metal mesh will heat up and melt the rubber and burst (u can see tires got a lot of sparks, flames and smoke before it burst). To drive until this extream limit, you need a lot of balls to drive the tires without treads (really botak)

my ps3 chipping because corner hard... the tearing is more horizontal / shallow surface layer

a lot of folks... the tearing is more vertical into the thread... imho this type of chipping is because turning steering wheel when car is stationary normally during parking... this twisting of the contact patch to change tyre direction causes the tearing...

don't turn the steering if the car is not moving should reduce/eliminate this type of tearing

Premium tires wont be able to eliminate, need to live with it. Either way will still chip or tear off due to soft rubber compound.

Ya been changing tyres yearly, and multiple brands mostly the hankooks, whack tyres hard  with soft compiunds n for 25yrs+ usage never faced this kind before

Year by year tire manufacturer made different formula for each newer generation tires (even old/current model tires sometime they also change formula, like Yokohama in the past use orange oil to infuse, but nowadays no more but still same model). Nowadays all want comfort, better braking performance, better fuel economy, etc. There will for sure got some draw back, learn to live with it or change other brand/model tires.

some chipping is normal... excessive chipping then have to understand the causes and try to reduce lor if possible...

nowadays how driving school teach ppl to park.... stationary car... turn turn turn... then move a bit... turn turn turn... etc... front tayar koyak cepat oh... hahaha

Buy those cheap budget tires with hard compound wont koyat cepat loo.. especially from indon or thailand made 1.. laugh.gif I still remember GT Radial, use until over 10 years tread like cannot reduce 1.. use until side wall got serious crack only change, but comfort and braking distance like hell.. lol
