Is it really so infamous? I also think maybe its true also that the ps range has this issue. Wonder PS 4 S also suffer from similar fate?

Anyway will try to claim warranty and see how.

Yes, it's the main issue with PS3/4 when driven aggressively quite often. I drove mine until even worse than yours and until almost bald too. Still ok to drive but you just observe from time to time. As the tires get older and less than 50% tread level, the chipping will get worsen. If the chunks are big enough like some on yours then it might reduce the cornering grip so just be aware. I don't think you can claim warranty though coz too high mileage already. Most people won't experience that also because they don't drive aggressive enough to encounter it.

Ouch , that's rather unfortunate for TS .

Any explanation for this tread peeling problem phenomenon in terms of Materials or Manufacturing  ? Something wrong with Michelin rubber/silica material ?

Don't know, I am not a tire engineer. Not sure also if PS3/4 made in other countries also have the same issue coz we only get the Thai made PS3/4 here. Last time I used F1D5 made in China also had the same chipping issue. These 3 had the most chipping of all tires I had tried before. The rest had much less or minimal only.
