Ex wife : met on ICQ. Had 2 dates and New Year’s Eve of 2010 piap piap with her. Was supposed to end it there but carried on.

Gf : I met her at a classic car event 11/2019 held in Phuket. We had a treasure hunt event that her then VW Type 2 was simply too slow so I asked to ride with me to hunt then we would use her VW to haul when we found it.

Well it turned out she lived not too far away from my previous work place though she is from Norway.

We had a good time, on our last evening before I loaded my 1965 MGB on a flatbed to bring it back I brought her for a drive to the southern tip of Phuket for sunset and yes it was with the top down and Paul Anka playing on the 8 Track. Well that drive took a lot longer than expected because then we went for dinner and drinks.

We kept in touch since the event and I kept track of her journey home as unlike me that loaded my MGB on a flatbed to transport it back to KL she was taking 2 weeks to drive back and camp along the way.

We had another date 31/12/2019, took a drive to the KKB dam using that MGB and yes Paul Anka was again playing on the 8 track. Spent the countdown with her because at around 22:30 I told her if we started the journey we could make it to Fraser’s Hill just before midnight. That MGB did not like the idea and the electronic ignition system fried and blew the fuel pump relay. Waited till 01:30 1/1/2020 for a tow truck. Thankfully besides Paul Anka there was also The Beatles to entertain us.

I hope my now passed on granddad and grandma would be proud because that MGB was the car they bought on their first holiday to England together.
