Got Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, 512GB pre-order unit last year at RM4199

Now for almost 1 month, Samsung Malaysia official website listed it at RM2199(even though it's out of stock)

During 12.12, my friend got it at RM2199 (Lazada)

Damn it, 1 year price dropped almost double.

Another example, currently Samsung A71 new at: RM1400, used unit with warranty at RM1000(Carousell)

Unlike iPhone, the price is way much better after a year of usage.

It's really like being a fool to buy Samsung/Android phone when it's launched.

Sorry, you are buying to use or you're buying the phone with the intent to sell?

People paying for perceived "value" of the brand.

Willing buyer, willing seller.

if you really care your phone value/worth down the road. Buy Apple iphone then...

100% of the android phone will drop in value, i mean depreciate alot after few months later upon it's debut.

That's because you get pre-order gifts when you buy Android phones. If you buy iPhone right now, the only free gift might only be a power adapter. For example, you pre-order Note 20U, you get buds live and might get a 4K TV as well. 5199-699-2099=RM2401

Agreed.

For me, I don't see the value of spending RM 3k and above for a flagship phone of the current year. Don't really find it worthwhile to spend so much on just a phone. Even if I have to get such a phone, I'd rather buy it when the price drops to RM 2k and below, or if I'm not satisfied with the current crop of 1 or 2-year old flagships, I'll get the 2nd hand version to save money.

2020 samsung phones not worthy anymore.

Mid end samsung phones processor are mid end and heavily boggle down by their One UI.

I bought samsung note 10 lite. Not even a year from 2.3k drop to 1.6k

Like i share with people for a phone u can just get a 2k xiao mi, oppo or vivo than get an apple ipad or notebook etc.

Samsung already stop innovating now they just rebrand their own model and copy apple cut cost method. Other brand have catch up to samsung

Sorry to hear that. But great that the warranty still covers it.

I bought 2 second-hand phones from Shopee. One a Samsung S9 (US unit) and an LG V40 (Korean unit). Lucky for me, both are working fine without issues, but for the latter case, I need to jump through a few hoops to change the language from Korean to English. Gonna continue using it until there's a need to get a new one, which will be in 3 years (or more) time.

Personally, I would prefer getting a brand new official Malaysian unit, but with the prices shooting through the roof (>RM 2k) these days, I really find it hard-pressed to spend that kind of money on a high-end phone. Might as well wait until the price drops to a reasonable level to even consider it, assuming that it ticks all the right boxes. And no, I'm not getting a phone from a carrier (e.g. Maxis, Celcom, Digi) as I don't like being locked to their services for an x period of time.

Sometimes you are lucky okay what if not lucky. Even iphone sell as spare parts worth alot. These days 2k can get as good as Samsung spec already without their crap exynos processor
