Judging from the 3 types you shared, it seems you haven't decided what type of material you prefer: mesh, leather, fabric etc. I personally recommend mesh (and using one myself).

Comfort: mesh doesn't accumulate heat like leather (worst) and fabric would. In terms of material softness/"nice to touch", it's not as good as fabric because it generally feels harsher... But rest assured, it doesn't prick or rub your skin in the wrong way.

Durability: I can't tell yet because my seat is only 1yo... But so far so good la. I hate leather because I sweat quite a lot and leather requires more care, else it deteriorates real fast and bad.

Once you've decided on material, you'll be able to narrow down your selections. Generally, the seat should be adjustable in as many ways as possible to get the best fit. To give more perspective, I'm using Sihoo M57 which is within your budget (?) But doesn't have adjustable armrest width wise so the seat becomes too wide for my arms to rest properly:(

Best to test all 3 variants out yourself. I tried type 2 and found the seat not comfortable enough for my liking, and this is just from 5 mins.

Initially I thought the CG Prime price was steep, but got fed up with discomfort and pain. Also convinced myself I'd to spend 1.4k instead of on unknown medical bills as a result of bad posture when I'm older.

Thank you so much to both of you for the response. After going through the thread on the responses and also went to alterseat showroom to sit on it. I had decided to buy CG Prime.

And I do agree some of you here that mentioned the workmanship and the built quality is medium at best for 1k to 2k, so cant really ask for more.

Hopefully I made the right decision

I am having the same dilemma as well picking a chair for my WFH setup. I went to IKEA to try Flintan, Markus, Millberget, Langfjall etc.

Markus is comfortable except I hate the armrest material. Feels like a sticky rubber. And the headrest is too high for my height (I'm 165cm). Langfjall is the best but it is high back w no head rest.

Was reading LYN forum and look for other alternatives as well - Anggun, Steelcase.. but I have not tried them.

Next that I tried was Altercase chairs at their showroom. CG Prime mesh material and lumbar support is quite good, and I also like how easy to adjust the lumbar support, but the headrest is the problem again. Too high for me, even when set at lowest position. The SA there mention it is more suited for people 170cm and above.

Long story short, I ended up buying LIV 10 even though it is the low end range of Altercase. It ticks most of the boxes with the headrest suits my size and provide very good support to my neck. None of the DT or CG model can beat that (for my body).

Point is, when choosing chair, I think testing it out is the best way of choosing. If I just based on my reading, I definitely would have bought CG Prime. Despite its bells and whistles, I would still be disappointed as would not get good fit from the headrest.

Alterseat, with its showroom and friendly SA, really makes buying and choosing easier for me. Took me about 15mins to test out their ranges and decide. I really recommend going there, or any other showroom brand that you prefer to try out. That would help you by a lot to make decision and save a lot of time being in dilemma just by reading (like me ๐Ÿ˜‚)

I truly concur with what you said. I had went to alterseat showroom twice, the second time, I literally just sat at CG Prime for more than 30 minutes just to really feel the chair.

And I must said the staff was really friendly and politely explain and answer all the questions despite I asked similar questions repeatedly. Thatโ€™s why I decided to go for their flagship on the second visit
