guys, I have a 3 month old AM office chair about RM300. Recently I notice squeaking noise when I recline, looked online and they suggested to loosen up the tension knob and spray some WD-40, after a few times the squeaking sound still there. Is this normal?
I'm about 190cm and 77kg, use it about 7 hours per day on average. |

QUOTE(Abd Salam @ Feb 17 2021, 05:07 PM) Decided on this Merryfair model, nothing fancy, but looks sturdy to me. Adjustable back height and armrest. Its cheap(compare to high ends laa) , so if its not to user satisfactory , it'll definitely cushion the dissappointment, haha. Looking at the thickness of the cushion, they are using thickness for support instead of foam density so the cushion will probably sag after some time.![]() |

Definitely will sag, but it will take years, my trustee old Haworth sagged after like 5-6 years maybe. And that one I bought used/refurbished. |

QUOTE(Relaxing work @ Feb 1 2021, 11:12 AM) OK Guys I just received my ANGGUN egornomic chair from Merryfair. hi. how do you add the optional base? I cant find the option to add on on its product pageI added RM50/- for optional base of diecast alluminium alloy material. 1. The chair looks nice and solid. 2. The adjustable lumbar looks and feels good. So far, no issue. 3. The adjustable hand rest for the updown movement looks cheapo. This is because I have used a better adjustable arm rest chairs in office. But, this is not an issue to me, because I seldom play with this arm rest setting once set up. 4. Overall it is worth my money. No regrets. I think it is a reliable chair, we shall see. 5. Aftersales support and communication is great. Once order confirmed, they will communicate with you on whatsapp. Very fast and responsible response. I am 165cm, and I bought the high-back version. Total damage: RM628/= (Inclusive delivery - from KL - Ktn ) |

QUOTE(ntw @ Mar 2 2021, 04:12 PM) Haven't receive the chair yet, presales is good but the aftersales is poor. Saw some complaints online that are addressed but some are not addressed too. They mentioned that they need 4-10 days and I'm okay to wait (within the time range given). But I mentioned before (repeatedly) that I need to know the date beforehand because need to apply permit to condo management otherwise later when I receive the item the security guard very fussy (last time bought 1 cbm items, any large parcel from taobao/others and security guard kept giving me problems). Its day 6 now and I still haven't got the date yet when I asked them today They are using lalamove for same state delivery so its not really an internal logistic issue. worst part is, I got ads on instagram today stating they have ready stock but the reality is I'm still waiting for their email for the delivery date ![]() As it is, unless they reply in the next 1-2 days (in which from their reply today, doesn't feel like so), otherwise I think I'll receive the chair late or need to fight with the security guard again Is setting a delivery date and managing customer expectation so hard Having said that, the presales is good though, but aftersales is meh. Would have probably gone for merryfair if I have higher budget This post has been edited by wcypierre: Mar 2 2021, 04:57 PM |

Hi, just to update .
Just received my Merryfair Stella this morning. Here are my initial thoughts. Its a freaking Solid Chair!!. Its big, for a 6ft like me. Didn't even have to lift up the backrest. Metal Joints between the backrest and the mechanism (heavy duty chair). I'll try to break it down point by point. Backrest. Thick foam , the lower part though not adjustable, it doesn't feel forced on you. Like it catches you kind of feel. ( that even a description). The upper part, like sits well on my head. But if You do need extra support, my advise, get a neck pillow for it rather than a head pillow attachment. You know, like the thing you buy for your car seat. Recline but not that extreme so it can be a daybed. (Buy a foot stool add on if really want to sleep on that chair) Seatpan/Budrest. Its thick foam, i don't doubt it will sag, but it will take very long time to get there. Adjustable seat angle. Don't know why, my guess its for when you go into attack mode/ crunch time and have your head like 1feet from you screen i think? Adjustable seat depth. Its spring-loaded hahaaaa!. *Oh this is by request. Default don't have . Armrest. Okay, this is an oversight for me. I thought all seats now come 3d/3way adjustment standard.(swivel, height, depth) But nope. Only height adjustable, with 10 stops index. The armpad i got is concave if you look it sectional. Good if you put your arm on mouse and keyboard properly. But will strain if you angled your arms i.e. relaxed state. For now I kind of hacked my armrest, by swapping left to right and vice versa so the angle for the armrest pointing inwards. I want them to support my elbow not my arm. Got my table to do that. I tend to slouch a bit, not so much that i need to recline my chair. Hence the armrest need to be close to the backrest. But if I have to, Merryfair do sell optional armrest separately. * This is an updated version of the armrest mainly saw on Merryfair Saga, the original Stella have Straight armrest leg/stand wutever. So no point swapping. All in all pretty solid chair, No squeaky like noise more of aaa "gdup2" sound .( that about right). Muffled. This chair can be too big for small size person as I don't even have to adjust the seat height . Might want to consider foot stool for this. So that's it my initial thoughts. ![]() This post has been edited by Abd Salam: Mar 2 2021, 07:36 PM |
