yes this one is true. however the measurements will give you some sort of idea. Don't forget the chair you tried in showroom has been tried by plenty of people, the shapes and sizes may have been well worn and thus slightly softer and probably more comfortable. And also you will try to emulate as if you are sitting up right, and only get to try to test it for few minutes instead of sitting it for hours. So it's pretty difficult the gauge, but at least you will get some idea and the measurements will sorta help as well.
*
Ya… totally agreed with what u said…
I just got some measurements. Maybe it may help some of you here…

Highest is Sihoo V1 followed by SPACE and last Alterseat. Of course they r not 100 % Accurate but just some references. V1 is best bet for me if I buy online without testing it out…

any owners of Alterseat CG Prime Gold experiencing mesh sagging? I went to alterseat's damansara uptown showroom to test the prime gold and there were 2 models with different colorways that had very different seat feeling. 1 was stiff and the other just sagged all the way to the bottom.

They have a few options available, which one do you recommend? Thinking of getting one from them.

Hi all,

Want to ask all the sifu out there to choose between Merryfair Wau and Alterseat CG Prime.

I tested both of them out in their respective showrooms and they feel equally similar and good. I only sit for around 20 minutes so not sure about long term.
The price they both offered me is RM 1350.

Any pros and cons of these 2 chairs that could set them apart?

It would be best to go to IKEA and test the chairs yourself, because everyone's body shape/build is different.

Many people recommend the Markus (599, 10yr guarantee) but when I tried it, was a little uncomfortable for me.

The Matchspel (699, 3yr guarantee) felt pretty comfortable and the dimensions were just right. I'm still considering getting this, only thing I am wary of is the PU seat. IKEA also knows that PU leather can only last about 3 years. Mesh back, so rather cooling.

Thank you for the replies, glad I followed them before ordering the Markus online. It was pretty bad for me wink.gif

Torn between the Matchspel (699) and Jarvfjallet (999) at the moment, both mesh back but PU leather seat (which I don't really like) but ultimately may pull the trigger on the Jarvfjallet given it's better support and adjustable bottom seat.

I have the Matchspel. The PU leather seat is uncomfortable if you plan to sit on it for long periods of time. I put an Ikea Rexbegonia cooling pad on the seat which makes it ok.

I used to have the Markus which I gave to my younger brother. The seat feels hard initially but over time it became soft and very comfortable. The only problem is the back of the seat which is rather tall and may not suitable for shorter people.

Nice reviews!

For point 1, if you think that Aeron build quality does not match the price, then you will be even surprised at the quality of other so called premium or ergonomic chairs.

I have tried Ikea’s and the higher end chairs at around 1K -2.5K price range, and trust me Aeron build is superior, metal or plastic or not. The build is very solid, and most of all, the chair itself doesn’t cut into your skins. The surface is smooth and not rough, unlike the other chairs which at the price of RM1K - RM2K range, you would expect a better quality but honestly nope. Most of the chairs these days just go by ‘ergonomic’ and then charge consumers premium for it, even though their claims mean nothing cause they just copy the work from other reputable brands, like Aeron who actually does the research themselves.

Strangely I do not experience back pain nor neck pain cause I did add an extra headrest, cause I like to lie down like a rocking chair. So that is something that you might look into, I remember reading from Aeron website or YouTube ergonomically stuffs that it’s not necessary to crank the lumbar support to the hardest unlike what the product is trying to sell you. It should just be enough to support you, not to bend your back or sort. And you could consider not sitting cross leg cause that’s like a big no no for your back. Just something that you could consider or look into.

What headrest are u using?

Are u still using the chair? How long been using already, and how is it now?

Both chairs I mentioned has the same seat so perhaps I may need the Rexbegonia in the future laugh.gif

The issue with the Markus is not the back height as I'm 180 cm but more of the back leans back too easily with almost no resistance. With the other 2 chairs, the lean back is more controlled and comfortable. Well, for me anyways as the Markus is advertised as one of their best sellers so surely it varies from people to people. Still glad I tried it out before I bought it online though.

Was wondering if anyone got ideas/experience with repairing mesh materials from these chairs?

Just noticed a small tear on mine & not sure how it comes to be as the cut is rather clean. So less likely from zippers/buttons getting caught up on it.

I bought sihoo m57 earlier this year due to wfh. It was comfortable.
Now joined new company, the gave steelcase think. Even with company discount, it is still 1.7k vs 8xx for the m57.

My opinion is m57 is more comfortable and worth to buy.

Pros m57
1. Mesh all around. Room doesn't have AC. So this is good
2. Able to add head rest (not too expensive)
3. Adjustable and lockable lean position
4. Adjustable lean tension
5. Relatively cheap

Cons:
1. Arm rest less adjustable (3D. But not a deal breaker)

Steelcase think pros
1. Backrest is mesh, while the seat is foam. A bit warmer feeling
2. Armrest is 4D adjustbale
3. Got bouncy feel when you sit on it

Cons
1. Headrest is 500+. Cannot afford lah.
2. Only not all lean angle lockable
3. Tension only 2 level adjustable (not to different)
4. Expensive. If own money, definitely will not buy
