Wow the price has really gone up quite a lot. It was RM3.1k (with headrest) when I bought Leap v2 from ELY last year. A few months before I bought it, ELY was selling it at RM5k if you buy two units.
*
it's 4.5k now with headrest...

may i ask where did u get the second hand leap from?

looking for a leap v2, cheapest now i saw is from ELY which is 4.2k~

anyone know where else can get cheaper let me knwo :>

Bought it from carousel, around 2.5k. It had been used for 4 years and I'm not sure if it is my imagination but the seat cushion seems thinner than the new one even though they are the same model, leap v2.

Good day guys, any idea which 1 to pick ? the think V2 or series 2. or any other model worth buying around RM3k.

Work usage and will spend like 10 hours on the chair per day.
*
Highly recommend getting think v2 over series 2 as it is wider and more comfortable to sit for longer hours. Also, headrest can be bought in future if you not sure getting one or not. Others steelcase chair do not offer such option and once you bough the non-headrest version, you will stuck with it forever.

Good day folks. Looking for an office chair recommendation with the following criteria:

1) Budget: within RM1,000
2) I'm someone with height of 164cm and weight of around 77kg

I've heard that several Malaysian brands are actually rebranding of China manufactured chair with premium price tag, so I'm kinda conflicted on which to buy hmm.gif

Just pulled the trigger for aeron size A with Trax merdeka sales, rm6611.

Hopefully can fix my bad sitting posture.

Was looking to buy steelcase leap but seeing the price almost 4k now, better just top up and get aeron.

Yup, I had similar dilemma as you for the past 1 year.
End up pulled trigger and got myself the embody gaming. So damn comfy compared to my previous chair.

Had the chair for less than a week. Dont think my review is valuable because i never tried steelcase leap or any other ergo chair before, so hard to give a good comparison. The last chair i used was ikea marcus.

but here are some of my feedback:

1) first impression of the chair, i dont think its worth 6.6k mainly because of the build. The chair base is made of plastic because i bought the graphite version. i think the carbon version is with steel base and price is cheaper too, only 6.5k now with merdeka promo but only have in size B and C.

2) Mesh seat is good. No skin irritating on my legs or thighs eventho im usually wearing shorts at home. This is good for malaysia hot weather and i dont use aircon 24hours. Im a bit worry if the mesh will sag over time?

3) My height is only 158cm, 48kg and not many chair selling in Malaysia can cater to petite person, so I shortlisted aeron or leap (they have the shortest seat depth and seat height). Considering price difference between leap and aeron is only 2k, plus i prefer mesh sitting, thats why i choose aeron. When the chair seat set to the lowest, my feet can be placed perfectly on the ground 90deg. but now i need to buy new table with either custom height or adjustable table so that it is 68cm height to achieve the ergonomic posture. My current table is too tall with 73cm height.

3) i still able to sit with leg crossed on aeron comfortably. the edge of the seats did not eat into my skin or putting too much pressure when crossed leg.

4) the lumbar support is good. i like the aggressive lumbar support so i cranked it to the maximum. Unfortunately the height of lumbar support cannot be adjusted, its fixed.

5) Aeron doesnt have headrest but i prefer not having headrest anyway.

6) Was having lower neck pain while im using markus, but now with Aeron the pain not there anymore. although now i can feel pain in lower back but i suspect that might be because its correcting my sitting posture? Need a little longer to see how it goes.

In conclusion, i would say if you are taller person and on budget, maybe can consider other brand of chairs first. then only update to higher grade chair if you see it is necessary, because the cost of the chair is not direct proportionate to the comfort provided. if X chair is Rm1,500, you buy Aeron which is 4-5 times its price, i dont think that the comfort level increased by 4-5 fold too.

As long as the chair has the suitable seat depth, seat height, adjustable lumbar support that can suit you, it would make a great ergonomic chair.

if you ask me would I buy this chair again given a choice, yes i will, simply because in Malaysia market i cannot find other chair that can fit petite person with my height and i dont want to use foot rest.

I probably can give a more credibility review if i have other ergo chair, so you might want to take my opinion with a pinch of salt. Hope this review helps.

Nice reviews!

For point 1, if you think that Aeron build quality does not match the price, then you will be even surprised at the quality of other so called premium or ergonomic chairs.

I have tried Ikea’s and the higher end chairs at around 1K -2.5K price range, and trust me Aeron build is superior, metal or plastic or not. The build is very solid, and most of all, the chair itself doesn’t cut into your skins. The surface is smooth and not rough, unlike the other chairs which at the price of RM1K - RM2K range, you would expect a better quality but honestly nope. Most of the chairs these days just go by ‘ergonomic’ and then charge consumers premium for it, even though their claims mean nothing cause they just copy the work from other reputable brands, like Aeron who actually does the research themselves.

Strangely I do not experience back pain nor neck pain cause I did add an extra headrest, cause I like to lie down like a rocking chair. So that is something that you might look into, I remember reading from Aeron website or YouTube ergonomically stuffs that it’s not necessary to crank the lumbar support to the hardest unlike what the product is trying to sell you. It should just be enough to support you, not to bend your back or sort. And you could consider not sitting cross leg cause that’s like a big no no for your back. Just something that you could consider or look into.

Just checked on their website and seems they have selected models at selected Digi stores nationwide. Perhaps you can check it out.
https://alterseat.com/pages/location

Been using Alterseat CG Prime (RM 1.4k) for past 2 months. I tried it before buying at their PJ showroom.
Overall very happy with it. I'm 173cm, 56kg so height and size of chair suits me just fine. Able to sit cross legged comfortably as well.

Lumbar height is adjustable but not by alot. Positioning suits me just fine. Lumbar depth is fixed.

Using headrest at lowest position and height is just nice and comfy for me.

Mesh is comfy and smooth. So far no skin irritation, even when butt naked.
Have tried an Ergohuman for comparison but disliked the mesh as it was too tight, making it stiff and uncomfortable for my tailbone after 1.5-2 hours of sitting.

All parts which are adjustable are easy to reach and adjust whilst seated. Even the wheel locking mechanism.

Only minor gripe I'd have would be leaning mechanism can only be locked in 3 fixed positions, lowest being about 50 degrees, instead of at any point.

My final consideration was between this and Merryfair's Wau (highly customisable on materials and colours) which was similarly priced back then. Eliminated Sihoo, Steelcase, Ikea, Ergohuman due to price, features and/or access for testing.

Was using a RM 200 gaming chair for past 2 years so its a huge difference for me. All the body aches (neck, tailbone, shoulders, back) went away once I switched chairs, other then my bad habit of hunching.
This is my 1st ergo chair so do take my opinion with a pinch of salt (other than testing a 2k Ergohuman for a week)

Anyone with a Steelcase Think V1 or V2?

I just recently got one of each used to try them out, and fount the tilt for the V2 is a lot less rigid than the V1. With the V1, I can push back a bit and have the tilt hold. Exerting the same amount of force on the V2, it would tilt much further back.

Anyone have the same experience?

I’m currently using a Clatina Mellet (essentially a Leap V2 ripoff) and the seat recline behaves similarly to the Think V2.

I’ve read around, and apparently the Think V2’s recline is meant to be easier to engage. Will this experience get better? Coz I plan to sell off one of them

Just wondering, have you adjusted the recline tension? If you not sure about it, google "Think V2 Adjustments"
