Used to be a fan of secretlab, but not very pleased with their quality after buying 2 chairs over the span of 8 years

1) 1st chair was the standard secretlab with p.u leather - p.u leather peeled off after a year, and it looks horrible

2) ordered the second secretlab chair - titan with nappa leather. Very expensive and as Malaysia did not have this model, had to order it on the sg site and have it shipped here. Leather was fine but overall the chair was hard as a rock. (read the reviews online) - very uncomfortable after extended periods.

Right now using okamura contessa seconda, couldn't be happier. The chair costs more than the two secretlab chairs combined, but it's well worth the investment.

Yo bro, I know it's almost 1 year ago, but can you tell me how's your Contessa seconda? And how much you paid for it?

Compared with Japanese yen we are doing well though. So I guess the price hike is due to Russia-Ukraine war maybe? (Shortage of chair parts raw materials)

Even though it's Japanese, and you think it's transacted using YEN???

Export/import is transacted using USD worldwide. On top of raw materials shortage, and price increase. Fuel prices hike up so much, even plane tickets are so expensive these days because of the increase of fuel prices.

You're right, sis. I didn't take into account of USD as medium of transaction. In this case, can I assume even when economy improves later, the price of chair will remain high (and higher)?
Just like hawker stall uncle auntie won't lower price of food after price hike?

Hi all,

I am currently looking for a chair for my WFH setup.

I am a male 170cm tall and 75kg.

Budget wise I can go up to ~3k

My friends recommended the Merrfair Wau but it seems a bit "plasticky"? The showroom is nearby my house so I will take a look someday.

Aitsulab is authorised reseller for Sihoo chairs in Msia. They will handle any warranty issues

Btw i believe Sihoo V1 have backrest height adjustment but CG Prime doesnt have it. Also the range of adjustments in Sihoo V1 is more.  Correct me if im wrong.

Local rebrand of Sihoo V1 is Evis Ergopro

Did you end up getting the V1?

Was wondering, between the M57 and the V1, if the price difference is worth it.

Nope haha. Still with my M57. Unfortunately got other things in plan so no budget for a new chair now

If you can afford the extra for V1, definitely get the V1. It has more range of adjustments than M57

Been using Victorage Gaming Chair since 2021 March (around 14 months of usage as of writing this). Bought from Shopee at the price of RM 1299.

Honestly speaking, I don't recommend this brand at all. Armrest's PU leather peel off after just 6 months. And it is not because of hot weather but the flawed design. The upper part of the armrest is a soft material and bottom part is hard material. If you lay your hands on it, it will keep squeezing the middle part and break the leather eventually. Take a look at the picture and you will see an obvious line in the armrest which is the "squeezing point" I was talking about.
https://pictr.com/images/2022/05/31/ByBOoQ.png

Approach to seller, seller response with "warranty do not cover this kind of wear and tear". But eventually, he was kind enough to send me a replacement of the armrest FOC. But as you may guess it, after a few months, the other side of the armrest also fall apart for the same reason. Asked seller if they have the parts so I can PURCHASE to replace it, seller response with "No".

You think the story ends here? haha. Too naive.
The defects of the armrest is actually still somewhat acceptable as I can simply wrap it with a fabric or some sort and continue to use it without problem. But after 14 months of usage, the seater is completely crooked. Yes, it is crooked. FYI, I'm weighted at 80KG and the chair advertised recommended weight is up to 136KG. Let's take a look at the chair from the back. This is what I get for RM 1299.
https://pictr.com/images/2022/05/31/ByB3xq.png

I quickly look at the bottom of the chair and found out one of the metal is completely bended as shown in the picture below.

Again, I approach to the seller, seller forward me to their dedicated customer service channel and I was told that this is not covered in the warranty. They categorized this as "wear and tear". FYI, the chair come with "Lifetime Warranty for Seat Frame" and "5 Years Extended Warranty". Yet, two of these "warranty" does not cover any of the defects I faced. Perhaps only god know what is covered by these warranty.

Well, MAYBE, PERHAPS, this defect is categorized as "wear and tear" in chair industry. But given the quality of the chair, I still don't recommend this chair at all. It broke down after 14 moths of usage after all. Comfort wise is fine before it breaks down, but again, it is FINE. Nothing exceptional.

PS: seller's username is victorage.os

Sorry to hear about your experience.

Honestly in the industry, i don't hear about "Victorage" at all, these are people who purchased OEM/China-made Gaming Chair Like and rebrand it themselves, thus the quality control is subpar or none at all.

Honestly, your best course of action is to pull out some budget or extra budget again, and look into reliable brands should you still wish to invest in another chair. Because the CS of this "company" is most likely going to give you further headaches.

I am a female 153cm tall and 55kg.

Budget wise I can go up to 2.5k - 3k.

I don't have any preference to be honest.. Just need ur opinions based on my size so that i can start to seriously go to the shop and test it.

Yup, don't have any plan to buy chairs from this brand anymore. Going to scroll through this thread a bit to look for a decent mesh chair replacement instead tongue.gif
Also, not sure why they have the confident to think we will buy more products from them after the first impression is so bad.

FYI i am also Victorage chair user, since August 2021. Although a bit less time than you, I have not encountered any problem with the chair. No peeling either, I ordered the Fabric version btw. PU peeling is normal especially if your room is non-airconditioned.

My chair frame are all ok so far.
