Hi,

First of all, I've never built one nor have the experience to build a pc. Complete amateur. But Im planning to do it ofcourse with the help of some googling/youtube.

Manage to get these specs cramped within the budget(RM4028) and im hoping anyone could suggest me something to swap out without exceeding the budget range(originally was RM3500, so the limit already been burst basically xd) :

CPU : Ryzen 5 3600X
GPU : RX 5700 XT Gaming X / ZOTAC RTX 2060
MoBo : Asrock b450m Steel Legend
RAM : 16GB DDR4 3200mhz (2x8GB)
PSU : Thermaltake Litepower 650W
SSD : 256GB M.2 2280 NVMe
HDD : 500GB(Used)
CASE : Tecware Nexus M2

Im sort of happy with it but the more I do the research about some parts I got conflicted and keep on swapping. If you could suggest me a better rig within the budget than what I've come up with I'd be much more appreciated!

btw I'll be using the system for work(chrome browse) and gaming of course most of the time.

1. Im not sure whether the mobo I've picked is good enough or could better
2. Originally I went for RTX2060 , but then a friend suggest RX5700 and the reviews both are great(?) but I am still not sure which to go with
3. For the CPU, I probably can make a sacrifice to lower it to 3500X instead for the other components but I am not sure if that'll be good idea

Your build looks fine, go with the nVidia GPU (better driver support)

A new 1TB HDD should be <180, so maybe you should just get one

If I'm not mistaken, you could make do with a (good quality) 550W power supply if budget is really tight

Right, now after digging more about the amd gpu, the drivers issue seems has yet to be "solved" and I think it's depends on ones build too cuz it seems weird when half the people has no issue but the other still do even til this day. Kinda dont wanna risk spending time to hassle after spend rm1.5k on it. I'll stick with 2060. Thank you

And the PSU, i think my best option would be Aigo550 650W 80+Bronze. Heard this are pretty common, as a start you reckon it'll be okay? Im fine with changing it later on after 1+ year maybe, but as of now a bit tight on budget.

AMD 5 3600
RTX 2060
SSD - 480GB
HDD - 1TB
PSU - 650W 80+Bronze
RAM 8GBx2
CASE AIGO DF

Manage to squeeze it to RM3.8k without taking off too much. Hopefully it'll last me a couple years ahead.

A few things here:

1. The 3600X and the 3600 are pretty bad value right now as prices has risen to near RM1000 mark (due to low supply and high demand), so either consider going for a 10400F, or wait until Rocket Lake CPUs arrive here (the rumored prices are quite good, if the prices of engineering samples are to be believed) icon_idea.gif

2. The 5700XT is a bad value card right now, and the 3060Ti is a much faster card than the 5700 XT icon_idea.gif

3. Board VRMs are mediocre

4. Low quality PSU

5. No information about the SSD = possibly DRAMless SSD icon_idea.gif
For RM4K, this would be a good one:

i5 10400F - RM599
MSI B460M Bazooka - RM454
2x8GB 2666 - RM278 (B460 boards restrict memory speeds to 2666MHz on Core i5s)
RTX3060 Ti - RM1900-2000 (might be hard to find, so ask myway1985 on stock and pricing situation)
Segotep GP600P - RM339 ( https://www.lazada.com.my/products/segotep-...AS9Rot&search=1 )
Transcend MTE220S 512GB - RM324
Tecware Forge M - RM208

Total: RM4102

Quite overbudget, but the 3060 Ti is a much faster card than the 5700 XT icon_idea.gif
Also I included a larger capacity SSD, as 256GB is not sufficient for modern games anymore (especially games like CoD which happily takes up an entire 256GB with ease) sweat.gif

If you want to make it cheap, you might want to wait for the upcoming RTX3060 (non-Ti) icon_idea.gif

That seems fit! Except i probably have to wait for the ryzen 5 price to chill a bit but hopefully that wont take too long. We'll have to see.

I do however consider of getting 3060Ti after doing a bit of a digging recently. It stretched me to RM4.3k given the current price for that gpu and cpu, although Im fine with it but if i were to go over RM4k i might as well go all out to 5k. But im waiting til this January, if the build I wanted is still possible within the budget range then I probably stick with 2060. But if it isnt, then I might have to upgrade as much around the 3060Ti.

In regard of the SSD, may i know what should I expect to happen if i were to use a dramless ssd? Apart from the speed, judging by few youtube comparison videos, 3-5 seconds difference which I believe i could tolerate coming from HDD previously 😂 is there anything else i should be alarmed for?

Thanks for the suggestion and the ssd reference list btw, will sure take note on it
