Anyone tried the Toyo ST3 (225 55R19), perhaps on the CX5?

I have never imagined myself trying out China brand tyres at all until now… I’m looking to replace the Nexen N’fera RU1 SUV with Toyo Proxes CR1 SUV but can’t find stocks available. Then I thought I will just replace with the same tyre as the Nexen have served me well. Unfortunately, same issue that the few shops carrying Nexen do not have stock. I went to this Modern Auto Garage at Kajang and they recommend to try out Windforce Catchfors UHP, and I’m sure I’ve seen you guys sharing it here and say good stuff about it. I’ve heard of many China brand tyres but not Windforce. Decided to try out and changed all 4pcs since the price is really good and I can’t wait(using spare tyre as one tyre puncture). Initial impression is pretty good as usual, new tyre is always quieter and comfy. Will share once I tested it on rain.

Have been running around 3k on these tyres and it’s been raining a lot lately. I don’t take things slow and I haven’t experienced aquaplanning or skidding, yet. So it’s considered good thus far. Hope its grip dry/wet won’t degrade that quickly down the road. (Ps I can’t even remember the brand name when replying this without checking the tyres)🤣 windforce catchfors uhp alright…

wife uc6 had this annoying issue, botak from the outer side front tyre. is this tyre having this issue on x70 as well? since you had a good review, might as well try this in future. the UC6 don't get well at heavy rain, maybe im used to Michelin Ps tyre.

I see reviews on Uc6 Suv it’s just about middle ground. Your issue eating tyres on outside/uneven wear could be something to do with alignment or chamber? Btw, my review about the tyre is posted here due to recommendation here and I’m using it on a Hyundai Santa Fe with size 235/55R19. My experience downgrading Vw Jetta Michelin PS3 to Michelin Primacy3 ST, I can instantly feel the reduction of grip on both dry and wet condition so basically any other touring tyres ain’t gonna give the same feel on genting run. The Michelin PS series is really a true performer if you have the budget. For 205/55R16, I heard Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport is a great contender and bang for bucks. I’ve put this on my wishlist pending Primacy’s end of service life.

Yes, X70 fitted with the UC6 tires sure have this issue. I not sure is the tires are not suitable for heavy SUV car.

I just change a bigger size 235/55/19 Yokohama AE61. Feel more quite than UC6 but UC6 driving feel is softer than AE61. One piece Yoko AE61 RM700. Tires now are very expensive.
