I have a iBook G4 1.33ghz running on 10.4.10. As the title suggests, my battery's health is at 89% and it was working fine all this while.
Any ideas why and how to fix?
Appreciate any kind response and/or helps.

QUOTE(aaronchin @ Aug 20 2007, 09:00 AM) These batteries generally last for around 300+ charge cycles and then you gotta get a new one. You csn go to System Profiler - Power and check the cycle count. It has a cycle of 277. Still shy off 300+?When I plug-in the power adapter, it would turn orange (indicating charging battery) for a few minutes, then to yellow (at this point, it stops charging). I can still boot with only my power adapter as well as my battery. Grh.. what's wrong with it? |

QUOTE(aaronchin @ Aug 20 2007, 08:02 PM) in that case try resetting your iBook PMU and see if it helps. Alright, I'll give it a shot and will post the results.instructions here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449 if it still doesn't work then you should go get it checked and most likely be prepared to fork out for a new battery. good luck buddy! Thanks for the help. Added on August 20, 2007, 9:10 pm QUOTE(xaw5126 @ Aug 20 2007, 10:17 AM) looks like your battery is kaput. get a technician to check it out? Thanks xaw5126 for the link, will get to a technician if resetting PMU doesn't work.http://www.asia.apple.com/buy/locator/svcindex.html < location of service Added on August 21, 2007, 1:01 pmOk, I've tried resetting the PMU. Now the battery charges up to 55% and then stops charging. Omg... Looks like it's off to the technician then. This post has been edited by jarydyap: Aug 21 2007, 01:05 PM |
