Hi expert, I'm newbie here and lately I try to learn to play guitar to impress girl..... hehe (kidding). In fact I try to learn guitar during the pandemic.... most of the time stay at home. I saw a seller selling this acoustic guitar but the bridge is a bit pop out. The condition of the guitar all ok except this, may I know is this expensive to fix or is this serious damage?

Its not ok though, definitely fixable but Im not sure about the price.
Any particular reason u want this guitar so bad? if you are trying to learn, a beginner acoustic guitar does not cost much these days |

what brand/model is this guitar. If its a nice guitar it could be worth to buy and repair if the price is right But if just normal laminated top that you can get brand new under 1.5k, just buy a new guitar. 9tailsfox liked this post

The guitar brand is Art & Luthier and according to the seller the black guitar makes nice tone because is a Cedar Guitar handmade in Canada. the seller offer price Rm 550 with the extra strings with tuner and free shipping. I know nothing much about guitar but would love to listen from the expert in here. thanks

QUOTE(9tailsfox @ Dec 19 2020, 12:02 AM) Sometimes due to malaysian heat or weather can cause wood glue to swell or lose grip. If it popped out like that usually needs luthier to reglue n clamp back.Rarely the case of hantam on floor but rather age or never store properly. It's also possible if this was inside a car boot during a hot sunny day. I don't know much about that particular brand or the wood sound but I would think twice since I rather get a new usable guitar than a series of headache sending to luthier. More especially when you never seen or heard the sound yet. Let others chip in and tell you more about this guitar before deciding This post has been edited by power911: Dec 19 2020, 03:16 PM 9tailsfox liked this post

Yeah, I think I couldn't agree more since I have no knowledge of fixing it and I'm not sure what is the cost for the fix. Initially I thought just a small defect... might be easy to fix. but the more I read the more I scare to mess up... Yeah advice accepted :-) thank you to all expert here. Please stay safe and stay strong... We can make it.... GambatehRarely the case of hantam on floor but rather age or never store properly. the fix can be as simple as wood glue unless its popping up due to string tension and yes power911 is right, our malaysian weather might not suit all wood and aggravate the problem.one thing leads to another and u might end up spending alot for this fix. i have seen many decent second hand and some brand new guitars selling for less. i wouldnt get this This post has been edited by uncleraymond: Dec 20 2020, 04:15 AM 9tailsfox liked this post

Another reason is the price too... |

A&L cedar top...rm550...avoid only. and since cedar is a soft wood, u still need to bring to someone experienced to fix it etc... A&L brand new also not that expensive...repair etc probably come up to cost of a good 2nd hand unit... I heard L. luthier is good also and it made in Malaysia... anyone try it before? that guitar has humidity problems, avoid it, not worth RM500everyone wants a guitar that is cheap, sound good and with quality, that doesnt happen, cheap guitars are cheap for a reason. which inturn means that most brands in the cheap area are about the same. So you could buy Cort, Luthier, Yamaha, Farida for pretty much little worry, they are all almost about the same standard. 9tailsfox liked this post
