we had 2 versions of ozil:
- First one was a world-class player that contribute 50 PL assists, who worked hard to fight for both the club and country.
- The second one was a total flop after signing the big contract, had nothing to fight for because already got the last big contract in his career and also feud with the national team and retire from international football (this means no need to do well in the club to be selected). He contributed merely 5 assists in 54 appearances since the new contract. For comparison, Smith-rowe already has 5 assists in 8 appearances this season.

I think every fans would appreciate the first version of Ozil but not the second version.

in the corporate world, the 2nd version of ozil is like high pay deadwood in a company, any company would want to get rid of them as they hinder the progress of the company.

It was a tactical decision. It was something that we weren’t doing right and it’s something I thought Willy could do better. That’s why I made the decision. It was about a few things, some things we had to treat to be much more aggressive like we were in the second half, press much better, we were closer, we regained the ball high and had better options with the ball. It was nothing to do with Gabi or his work ethic or whatever, it was just a tactical decision.
