Partey and ESR was throwing the ball away at the midfield last night and Auba was blunt as usual. Think Auba lost his aura due to age and form plus he struggles to fit into Arteta’s formation.

Gabriel had some nice moment last night with one assist. Like to see him play more though. He probably can start ahead of Auba considering Saka and ESR occupying the wing role. Issue is where to fit Laca, that poor guy been trying very hard but not getting good minutes to play

I actually think its a CM issue. Other than playing sideways, the central midfield has almost zero creativity via through ball etc.

Can't really blame the forward as Arteta's formation rely more on midfielders, the only type of striker that suits his formation will be a holding striker. That explains why Auba cannot fit into his system and the only closest striker we have for that formation is Laca.

Would love to see Martenelli to play forward instead of winger, think he has that physique to support that role...

Agree, he does carry some top attributes as CB. He gave everyone of the calm and steady impression, a player that you can rely on the back. I probably felt the same aura as when Sol was playing for us.

all players looked jaded and tired and most of them are performing to participate in the WC. Given the EPL will restart after New Year and WC to end on 18 Dec, not sure if the players will still perform at the same level next year...
