Hi. I want to buy for myself a watch since ive never owned one. I was overwhelmed by how many design and brand in the market. Alas,im here for an input from the expert to at least narrow down the choices.
My preference would be
1. Analog
2. Quartz or automatic,i dont mind.
3. This is important. I like how we can see the gear inside of the watch spinning. I prefer this.
4. Have date.
5. If possible,id like leather straps rather than the steel one.

My budget is RM200 to 500. Is it possible? Thanks in advance

I just learned it was called tourbillion (spelling?) and skeleton.

After several google, this model caught my eyes.
Pagani Design PD-1638 RM240-270
Fossil ME3134 Rm400ish

Both of this have no date display. Are this 2 auto?

Tourbillion is totally out of the picture, it is one of the most expensive watch you can find.

Skeleton watches are different and more accessible, they are automatic most of the time. No comment on pagani and Fossil as i dont own any of them. Automatic meaning you just have to wear it everyday for it to keep ticking. Try to look for those that has handwinding, older seiko5 dont have it too.... you have to shake the watch in order for it to start ticking hate that.

Handwinding, date day quick set are the basic things i want.

To me, buying a automatic watch is 70%design, 10% brand and 20% on movements.

Movement is very important, you do not want your watch breaking down after few years. For cheaper automatic watch, i will only consider if they are using miyota or seagull movements. So like many other forumer said, your budget better go for orient or seiko5 their in house movement is proven reliable... but they seldom have skeleton watches, at most only open heart which is a small lubang showing you the heart of the watch

If you like the design, just go for it.forget all the crap i said, enjoy the movements and the gears moving parts. And welcome to watch collecting world. 2 more brands that caught my eyes but have yet to own. Titus, their design is nice and suits my taste. Revelot, a malaysia brand using cheap miyota movement. I still prefer orient, seiko and citizen. Quartz will always be casio and gshock.

My first watch using my own money is actually a quartz from ellese which i mostly not even consider to buy now. But hey, that watch has been with me for 15 years and still ticking! Current sitting on my work desk as a small clock haha.

After consideration,i just bought Orient FAG02001B0,which is all black. The open heart is nice too see. The price also not too far from my budget, and it looks modern enough. I dont know about reliability of the model,i take you guys word for it.Thanks for everyone's input.
