Dear sifu, may I know if nano sink is worth it? They claim to be easier to clean and less oil stains due to coating.
But is the coating durable? As usage will be heavy at home. Cook and bake a lot. Appreciate your input!

QUOTE(Ken.B @ Dec 9 2020, 12:18 PM) Dear sifu, may I know if nano sink is worth it? They claim to be easier to clean and less oil stains due to coating. I am not sifu but based on what I know nano technology used in sinks is tiny ceramic particles sprayed on (typically stainless steel sink) to form a protective layer similar to ceramic coating for cars. But is the coating durable? As usage will be heavy at home. Cook and bake a lot. Appreciate your input! The vendors will no doubt will advertise as the best thing since slice bread but I really doubt that. First no major manufacturer has adopted in big scale. Second, while it may prevent some scratches to the stainless steel sink, it is still not 100%. The similar coating for car will still chip from stones and dents. At this time it is just a marketing gimmick. You want tough one get a granite/quartz composite sink, it doesn’t need this nano coating. But even then, a heavy pot/wok (the likes of Silit, Scanpan etc) with great force may still break the composite sink if you are extremely reckless. ceo684 liked this post
