Is it still worth it to buy Playstation 4 for my kids, or better straight go to Playstation 5?

And what are the pros and cons? I am programmer but I am bloody noob with Playstation as I am more to PC guy.

- Bundle items must be similarly premium (if buy 3080 Ti, cannot buy i5)

Well, if you can wait 6~8 weeks nowadays + Dell's 3080 is a little less powerful than those aftermarket ones, that's a pretty decent deal.

But the lack of ability to upgrade is such a turn off. You are stuck with their custom parts and that's it.
Miners need it to mine.

Gamers need it for higher fps.

Rich kids / people won't care about pricing anyways.

True gamer lol. Scalper also know to pick the highest bundle to increase their chances, they would just force the buyer to take the whole bundle anyway.

True gamer would know that the games they try to sell you are overpriced and you could get much better deal on Shopee.

Selling controller and games is not as easy and as quick as console, so their money will be tied to those item for a long time and that's not good for scalping business. As more console become available scalper price have reduced significantly from 5K++ to only 3k++ now (some selling for 2k++ only). So its race against time for scalper. Hold the console too long they will have their profit reduce significantly. So buying bundle (extra cost and further reduce their profit margin) definitely a no no for scalper.

You are paying prices higher than MSRP even if you sell all the other components, and the resale value of your 3080 Dell or HP OEM will be lower than other brands.

So, slightly over 2 weeks ago I sent my PS5 controller for warranty claim as it was facing drifting problem on the left analog stick. My question is has anyone of you faced this problem?

Now with the extended lock down. I doubt I'll be able to get them fix it within the stipulated  2 weeks they promised. Hence my reason to purchase a spare. Yeah I know I shd have done that long ago..

IFixit.com - the famous teardown folks say the Sony DualSense controller only has a typical usage of 417 hours. That's shocking to say the least.

My console has 15 months manufacturer warranty and an additional 24 months by Sen Heng.

Going by the fact that my controller failed in just 5 months,  shd I purchase a spare controller also from Sen Heng at RRP349 and enjoy the extended 2 years warranty  (Citi plus one member) or save a couple of bucks and purchase one from Shopee / Lazada with standard 15 months warranty. Either way, we are talking about official Sony Malaysia  set here.

I just want to know if analog drifting is a common problem and if extended warranty for spare controllers is worth it and 15 months isn't enough. I know that those of you who purchased your console payed a small sum to Sony Malaysia to extend it's warranty coverage. Do they have similar extended warranty for controllers purchased separately ( beyond the 12 +.3)? If not,it will make good sense purchasing from Sen Heng.
