still no news/whatsapp on my PO with official Sony website .....

I actually had very good experience with Gdex, Poslaju and J&T in my area.
All delivery guy I met were really friendly and don't just throw my things into my garage when I'm not home.
They even call me up and ask is it ok to pass it to my neighbour on a few occasions when I'm not around.
Only issue is Poslaju might take up a week to deliver something from KL to Johor.
Gdex and J&T normally need 1-3 days.

Any of you that purchased thru Sony Online Store haven't gotten any updates?

I've not received any whatsapp/email/tracking.
Order status : unfulfilled
*
I just live chat with Sony Online Store.
"Upon checking further, I do found out that your order has been listed for the 2nd batch"

Sony did called me a few days after I PO on official website that the system glitched so they oversold some units, and request to put me to second batch.
No ETA for second batch, so looks like I won't be getting mine anytime soon.

To those who manage to receive their console congratulations and enjoy !!!

you guys won't be the last to receive

Mine is ordered from Sony official website, but first batch got pushed to second batch due to system glitch. So I think I should be the last to receive smile.gif
Edit: they oversold some units, so not enough to allocate for everyone who purchase from official online store

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Dec 31 2020, 03:52 PM)
Reason I recommend X2HR is because for most gamers here, it makes sense. If you need a mic, get the VMODA boompro and connect it to the X2HR + dualsense, instantly becomes the best "gaming headset" on the market without paying a premium, bar none. The X2HR also strikes a good balance between a wide enough soundstage for casual competitive gaming and also just enough bass immersion for those single player experience. Fact that X2HR is also almost always on sale makes it a no brainer "reasonable budget" purchase.

DT990 are nice but don't really have the versatility of to do what the X2HR can and the weak-ass dualsense can't even drive them to respectable volume to begin with.

Another alternative is the Vokyl Erupts which are IMO better than the X2HR even. They were suppose to go full production this year but covid happened, otherwise this would be my new go-to recommendation.
*
X2HR can be driven well enough via dualsense directly?

I’m still on the fence on whether to go wire or wireless.

Is external amp dac out of the equation now? Given that even external hdd is not officially supported yet.

X2HR just about cuts it for dualsense. Not amazing but good enough yes.

External DAC+amp is mostly out of equation because PS5 doesn't have an optical out port. Sure you could use a HDMI splitter to split audio and video, but that means adding another device into the chain and that can cause increase in latency, of which the PS5 cannot make adjustments for either. Then of course the splitter will also need to be 2.1 capable or otherwise you're then cock blocking the console.
*
Thanks for the info.
I’m actually still waiting for my ps5 from sony.
Will consider going the X2HR + boom mic route if I decided to go wire

Hopefully will hear something soon from Sony.

Just received a call from Sony and confirm that I will get my unit 15th Jan onwards.
They expect to give me a tracking code around 13th Jan.

I remember there is another guy here had the same issue as me.
I believe this time Sony had enough to fulfil all those glitched first batch PO.

no le...you need to select CFI-1018A(standard) or CFI1018B (digital) then only input 4 details.

Serial number
drop down menu to select sony or game shop names
invoice number
date

*website is up.
*
I registered my warranty at here instead
https://web.sony-asia.com/my/mysony-my/registered-product/

When Sony Malaysia send my PS5, it comes with a paper instruction to register the warranty here.
After I key in the 7 digit serial number it immediately recognise it is a PS5, and display the full model number on screen.
Did the same for my 2nd dualsense, both PS5 and the dualsense received the additional 3 months warranty.

I guess both website works.

hi bro, how you find the serial for the dualsense came with the PS5, i dont remember there's a box for the dualsense? on the box only have 1 serial with S01-xxxxxxx for the PS5 itself. what should i look for? doh.gif
*
I bought an extra Dualsense, so it comes with a box.
The dualsense that comes with the PS5 I didn't register warranty. The warranty for it I believe should be tied with the console.

When a PS5 is powered on the very first time, it should get a special animated screen.

I notice that one of my 3rd party usb c cable will not stop charging when the controller battery is full.
I've tested twice with my PS5 in sleep mode, my dualsense still glowing after 4-5 hours but when I turn on my PS5 it indicate it's fully charged.

The original cable that comes with my PS5 don't have this issue.
Anyway to identify if a usb c cable is compatible for this stop charging when full function ?

while playing miles morales, the screen froze and after a while the console shutdown by itself.  After I turned on it repaired the storage and all OK now. Anyone had this issue?
*
I've had a rather similar issue when playing Astro's Playroom last week.
But instead of shutdown and repair the storage, mine just shutdown and reboot.

Get "stop charging when 100% fully charge type usb type c cables". Many brands have it like McDodo.

First time I heard of this brand, but review seems good on shopee.
Thanks, will give it a try.

QUOTE(abhipraaya @ Jan 24 2021, 04:04 PM)
Does the controller actually stop charging automatically by itself  when the battery is full?  I believe it's not the cable but you set the timer in the ps5 to power the USB ports in rest mode for x number of hours.

I actually set the console to power the USB ports for 3 hours in rest mode to charge my controller. This is to prevent overcharging but I'm not sure if this is still applicable in modern gadgets.

I could be wrong so please correct me if otherwise.
*
I believe it does.

I have 2 controllers , a few days ago I tried charging both in sleep mode.
One with 3rd party cable, and the other cable is the one that comes with PS5.

4-5 hours later the 3rd party cable is still trying to charge my dualsense (orange light on controller), but the cable that comes with PS5 is no longer charging.
I assume PS5 is same as PS4, a fully charged controller should not be lighting up.
When I turn on PS5 the battery indicator is no longer blinking on screen, this should mean the controllers are fully charge.

Regarding the "console to power the USB ports for 3 hours in rest mode", actually I never understand why is this feature needed since PS4 days. Until now smile.gif

Anyone interested to extend the warranty for their Malaysia PS5 can contact Sony now.
I just spoke with the live chat, and they will email me the steps to purchase it.
Price is RM150 for 2 years extended warranty.

My PS5 warranty is registered on the website below, and after extended it will reflect on there as well.

Nice so it’s 15 months + 1 more year. Just chat with them?
*
Actually it's 1 year original warranty + 2 additional years extended warranty.
So total is 3 years warranty.
I not sure will this void the 3 months free extended warranty or not.

QUOTE(ephunk @ Jan 26 2021, 04:37 PM)
Share the step to extend please once you got the email.
*
The email I received don't seem like a standard reply, it comes with a special reference id.
I think it's best you live chat with them.

QUOTE(set @ Jan 26 2021, 04:50 PM)
total added up is 2 years

or

2 years + current 15 months?
*
According to my friend, the branch manager told him the 3 months free extended warranty will be void.
So it will be 1 year + 2 years = 3 years in total.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure it will be
2 years + current 15 months or 2 years + current 12 months

But RM150 for 2 extra years of peace of mind, I think this is extremely affordable.

QUOTE(unknown @ Jan 26 2021, 05:03 PM)
This extended warranty available for online store, KLCC and The curve store only, right?
*
Bought mine from Sony webstore.
I believe as long it's Malaysia set, you should be able to purchase it.

Highly suggest you check with them on live chat first.
They are very efficient, I only waited for like 10 seconds in live chat before they responded.

What's the difference between the link above and the one below?

https://www.playstation.com/en-my/support/hardware/warranty/
*
Some forumers here registered their PS5 warranty with the link you share.

When I receive my PS5 from Sony web store, it comes with a piece of paper instruction to register my warranty on
https://web.sony-asia.com/my/signup
So I registered my warranty on this website instead.

PS: My Sony headphone and TV were registered on this same website as well.
