QUOTE(New Klang @ Dec 10 2020, 11:31 AM) They cut price to RM90k also cannot sell, took them years to clear all remaining stocks as people won't buy cars that have bleak future. C-segment 2.0L at rm90k sounds really cheap but take up loan say 90%, the RV drops faster than the loan reducing if bought a car that can't sell, very rare on the road and probably no spare parts. Worse is, if car got bang total loss, bank pays market value say dropped 50% while loan still 80%, insurance compensation pays bank the 50% while owner still have to continue paying bank until the remaining 30% settled when he has no car. Imagine paying rm1k loan monthly, his salary not eligible to take loan to buy another car anymore. Korean cars nowadays come up new model every 2-3 years, their FL also look like total redesign more than facelift. Elantra 2017 and so called facelift 2019 look like different cars, the pillars sloped more inward in the 2019 FL leaving less space for rear passengers head. If accident even minor requiring headlamp, tail lamp, bumper, got spare parts or not is big question mark. How many parts do korean manufacture for model that lasts 2-3 years? Koreans scrap cars in 5,7 or 10 years and they are quite ignorant assuming others the same. This is why they don't put long term ownership reliability on focus anymore giving more electronics. |

QUOTE(Chris3009 @ Dec 10 2020, 01:08 AM) Ok i hope u can do a tutorial soon on how to press the signal to yr left while driving with yr right hand without using yr left hand. Thread derailed but solely one post on this.Dont talk to me abt yr perceptions on driving competency when im clearly in the context of convenience. Good luck mr smart alec u prolly enjoy showing ppl around u how superior u are to them. Dont get the backlashes you got when it's a legit point made. By these ppl logic: 1. Why need auto gbox when manual trans already can get the car move from Point A to B? Difficult to operate? Tiring legs? If that's the case majority of the public shouldn't even be on the wheel. 2. Why need air conditioning when fan blower is enough for ventilation? Can't stand the heat? Should have stayed in the jungle. 3. Why need power steering when trad rack and pinion steering can change car's direction? Too cumbersome to operate? Safety consideration aside, ppl shouldn't be driving after all. 4. Why need covered pedestrian walkway when one without one can walk to the station or destination? Should have 14th floor since so pandan can't adapt to weather when our ancestors can. 5. Why need elevators in buildings when your legs also can climb the stairs? Too tired? Should have stay at flat ground forever. There's reason why some car manufacturers now giving back mixture of buttons and touch screen control. Because of user friendliness and ergonomics. Ppl that brushed these aside are the reason why car manufacturers can screw consumers and be complacent about it. Equally these kind of ppl deserve to be screwed by manufacturers because they allow manufacturers to get away with thing like this, however minor it is. 1104255 liked this post

Equally these kind of ppl deserve to be screwed by manufacturers because they allow manufacturers to get away with thing like this, however minor it is. if it is ergonomics and friendliness you are looking for, you wouldnt buy a car with the signal indicator stick placement on the left. it is buyers choice. no one is shoving you down the throat with gun pointing at your forehead forcing you to buy those cars. it was your choice to buy it. what people trying to say is, dont make that “ergonomics” or “friendly” as a reason of not using a signal indicator |

QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Dec 12 2020, 02:14 PM) I believe a C segment sedan should not command this price tag. With 160k I would consider CRV, CX-5, Tiguan or Outlander. You can tell I don’t think any C segment sedan can command this price tag, when you can get a compact SUV with those kinda money. |

Why blame the car manufacturer for the high selling price when the real problem is local taxes and the weak ringgit? In US ,the Elantra retails from US20k, roughly about MYR85k and in Australia, it starts at AUD21k, about MYR 64k.
