slogan = skillz

"lucky draw" =/= skillz
unless you know how to "game" until its a skill
*
Lucky draw nowadays are based on entry ma. Most lucky draw nowadays is one entry per how much spent or stuff like that. So you enter more times you get more chances.
Those professional contest people will get those receipts and proof of purchase from friends and family to enter the contest to increase their chance. Or they do things like "Min RM50 get 1 entry. So if they buy RM200 they split into 4 receipts to get 4 entries while normal ppl just get one entry." Stuff like that to increase their chance. At the end you see the one they win but don't see the ones they don't.

please go learn probability.
*
You're the one that needs to learn probability la.

Take this example:
Total tickets is 10. There is 5 prizes.
You have 8 of those tickets.
This is a lucky draw event. Do you think your probability to win any prize is higher when you have 8 tickets or 1 ticket?

Go back to school la.

your example show that he puts in 80% of the entry tickets every time?
i highly doubt it, his probability of winning is waaaaaay less than that.
*
Yes, but the point is you only see his winnings. Do you see his losing? No. So the bias is that you think he wins every contest he enters.
I bet you he enter every fucking contest that can be gamed/optimized.
He maybe win 10% or so.

QUOTE(tshin810 @ Dec 2 2020, 01:16 PM)
LOL he won at least 3 cars and many high-value stuff. Those lucky draw events have thousands to a few hundred thousands of contestants. Do you still think you know probability?
*
You don't know how many entries he entered so nothing much you can say. At the end it's a game of numbers. If they are syndicate ppl also it's valid entry. Bunch of people pool resources to ensure higher chance of winning. Don't forget the spending entry also can be they buy from disti and resell online so end up not using own money but can enter competition. There's plenty of ways to increase your chance if you want to.
It's a matter of whether you are doing it professionally or not. Simple as that.

I gamed a competition last time too:

When Samsung Pay came out that time they hold a lot of lucky prize style competition where each transaction using Samsung Pay will net you one chance.
Me and a lot of people here in Lowyat realize that it's per transaction so what we did was buy RM1 item like McD icecream and pay with Samsung Pay.

Won myself the new Samsung icon X and multiple power banks at that time.

I believe they won fair and square but they do game the system to increase their chance. But it's all legal instead of those conspiracy theory that company tipu give own ppl. If give own ppl better use fake name/profile la.

Ok. You have 100k cash on hand right now let's say.
You dump 50k into the pool and you get x70.
Now you have x70 and 50k on hand.
Do you get richer?
Dump another 10k into umobile contest. You get iPhone 12 Max Pro.
You have x70 and iPhone Max Pro and RM40k left.

Tell me. What kind of logic is this, and what are you trying to achieve? Do you get it by richer? How do you accumulate the wealth? by selling the cars and the phones?

Without a proper loophole, you wouldnt want to risk that.
He must have total confident and insider news, daring to do so.
*
Aiyo. He didn't spend 50k into the pool just like that. Imagine if it's a Dutch lady competition. He spend 50k to enter, but he got 50k of the product. So he just resell the product to end user. So he get the 50k back.

Airways remember, he spend to enter but will get an equivalent value on product, so if he resell the product he can get the money back.

He won Proton X70, Proton Iriz, Modenas Kriss 110 and iPhone 11 Pro in each every week Umobile contest.
So he dump more than 40k...?

Furthermore he said T&C only can win 1 prize each person but why he can win 4 in a row?

???
*
T&C says 1 prize each person per week or 1 prize each person whole comp. Big difference.

If don't win... then gone case la money like this (if a normal ordinary person were to do that).

So he must have a good starting amount/a fair size to splurge on contests if indeed this is the way he plays.

Going this route would also mean the person has to be super dedicated to win, going all-out, having a good strategy and then executing it again and again and not missing any big opportunity.
*
How the money gone if don't win? You understand or not? He buy stuff and resell. So the modal always back. Imagine a Dutch lady milk competition.

Buy from original shop RM50k worth of milk. Enter competition using valid receipt. Sell the milk back to normal ppl online or via Facebook or maybe they got own shop. Get back the RM50k modal. So no money lost but get you enter the competition.

Simple just think like you ask your relatives/friends give you receipt for you to enter competitions.

Then just say he is whole saler or reseller la. Why have to censor or shut down everybody on /k.
*
Could be he's not official reseller. You know those companies can actually come after you if you resell their products without authorization.

And what he did is not illegal but its morally wrong. Will kena ban from competition punya.

But those sohai conspiracy ppl saying event company pakat la that la memang sohai. Coz if those company wanna cheat won't reuse same ppl every fucking time la.

That's just a reseller la  aiyo... biggrin.gif

If that's what you believe then ok lorr....
*
Technically authorized reseller cannot enter the competition. So if he doing it just to enter then not reseller lor.
I just explaining to some people who think he will drink all the milk he buy for the competition or use all the topup.
Some people really need to explain things until like that only understand.

Actually the whole point of ppl butthurt about MrLKK winning is not one but more than twice/triple on those GrandPrize.

And then try to add more oil into fire, ppl realize he using more proxies to win more GrandPrize.

To make it even hotter, they qualify for all sort of bantuan from gomen.

So it become Butthurt Pro Max Ultra. Any everyone want this person to die because netizen from K want justice by reporting this people to LHDN or SPRM or whatever PDRM. - after so many pages of discussing.
*
Hard to say also if he will kena from LHDN. Prizes memang not taxable and if he's only using receipt from other ppl (technicality) then no issue right?

In my point of view.

Prizes is not taxable. (but /k said if people sell the prize from contest, it is taxable - need source/citation - no solid evidence yet)

Using other people receipt is it legal? (technically, there is no wrong that you get the receipt from other people, how you get it is the interesting part).
*
This one obviously legal la. Where got law saying tak boleh guna receipt orang lain, except for maybe if you claim income tax. But even then it's hard when there's no proof it's other ppl's receipt.

QUOTE(TimesOfTrouble @ Dec 4 2020, 12:15 PM)
yea but with top spender competition where you can create more entries with more spending/single transactions, my best guess is that you have to be willing to spend anywhere close to the amount of the prize. Hence in your example you mentioned risking 80k for 100k worth of prize.

If you are capable to risk so much to win 10 cars, your earning from previous winnings must be quite huge for you to sustain your hobby as professional contests winner.
*
You all always forgot that spend doesn't mean burn the money la. Spend just means buy the stuff, you still get 80k worth of item. Resell at 5% loss then you can roll the money again to increase your chance until 100%.
How come so many people always think those spend money is burn money ya?
