Covid-19: Uncle Don's Restaurants urges customers to undergo testing after employee tested positive

PETALING JAYA: The management of Uncle Don's Restaurants is requesting customers who have visited its SS2 outlet from Nov 20 to Nov 25 and experiencing Covid-19 symptoms to get tested for the virus.

The statement was issued after a worker tested positive for Covid-19.


"The worker at the SS2 outlet had displayed suspected symptoms on Nov 25 is now confirmed to have tested positive for Covid-19," it said in a statement on Friday (Nov 27).

Out of 40 of its staff who had gone for a Covid-19 test on Nov 26, three tested positive, 23 tested negative while the others are still awaiting their results.

"The three positive cases (which include the initial worker above) have already been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment," it noted.

The management said that the remaining staff will remain in self-quarantine for the recommended period of time outlined by the Health Ministry.

"We also confirm that the three positive cases were not on duty on 25th November.

"However, we encourage any patron who visited our SS2 outlet within the period of Nov 20 to Nov 25 and experiencing symptoms to get tested," it urged.

The restaurant will remain closed until further notice in order to undergo disinfection.

The management reassured that all its staff will undergo the necessary Covid-19 tests and are giving full cooperation to the Health Ministry for contact tracing.

"We wish to allay any fear or doubts and assure our valuable customers that all other Uncle Don's Restaurant outlets are not affected, as the staff from the SS2 outlet had no physical contact with staff from our other outlets and from hostels," it said.

Uncle Don's said it practices strict compliance to standard operating procedures at its outlets in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
