Want to rejuvenate your car bushings or rubbers, eliminate squeky sounds at your bushings? Try using silicone lubricant. It works by soften back your bushings/rubber to prevent it from deteriorating and crack. I tried it on my car and it works to eliminate squeky sound.

I use the toyo brand (rm13 spray can), went down under my car and spray at all the rubbers, bushings and moving parts i can find and leave it overnight. I use up 1 can 300ml because i spray at a lot of places including my door lining rubbers, engine mounting, absorber mounting etc. Heck even scotty klimer recommends using this product as a maintenance item to prolong your bushings/rubbers lifetime.

Background:

Recently when i switch off my car audio, i can hear some nyek nyek nyek sound coming from my car left rear side. So i did some test by pressing my rear absorbers let it bounce up and down, no sound. But when i push it side to side, can hear the nyek nyek sound. So i suspect my bushings no good d.

Bring to mech, he say ya, your bushings keras d. Need change. If change all around rm1k. He say if one is going, all will go also. I see memang keras a bit, but no pecah yet. So nvm, i bring my car back first since the bunyi very little only. Finally decided to try the silicone lubricant to try to bring back my bushings to working life.

Does it leave any white residue ah?

I use this

https://www.mrdiy.com.my/waxco-auto-silicon...-9930038-001001

But my mechanic said better use wd40 for door squek. But is it safe if i want to use it on other part?
*
Silicone lubricant can use for metal to metal also. Rubber also can. But wd40 normal ones cannot use for rubber

wont it deteriorate ur bushings much faster?

dust and dirt will accumulate at ur bushing and eat ur bushing even faster.
*
No, the lubricant will form a protective layer around your rubber. Also inside the silicone lubricant has a type of component(forget wat d) that will help prevents oxidation, protects and prolong your rubber life. It also helps soften the rubber so it wont harden n crack.

hmm.. good recommendation. what is your car brand? 1k ffor all bushing seems okay price
*
Normal bushings only. Since our cars have around 14 bushings for the rear for my nissan sentra b13, front less..lets see. 3 front for lower arm each side, absorber link 2. So another 12 at front. Total 26 bushings for my car if not mistaken.

I bought from lazada 2 cans. Total become rm25 include shipping. So my cost around rm13 per can.
Just type in toyo silicone in lazada and you will see the exact same product for rm10.xx (the one i bought from lol)

I use WD40 silicone
Lesson learned from using regular WD40.
*
Just curious, what happens to your rubber bushings with regular wd40?

Used to wipe my window mouldings with it after car wash, so it doesn't look as dull. After a few years the rubber became very soft and would just stretch a bit and break when you touch it. Almost like playdoh.
*
First time i heard of this.. This is a preventive item, recommended 6 monthly do (1 year also ok if lazy).. guess you are overdoing it? How many times car wash per year?

Is that white lithium grease or just silicone grease?
*
Silicone grease. White lithium macam not suitable for rubber. Its more for metal to metal.

Door interior rubber trim lining--improve sound insulation wehh
Exterior rubber strips - roof, window, wiper lel
Power window rubber lining
Bonnet rubber lining

Great to know that it can be used on all the rubber parts !! Bought this too for spraying my car timing belt last time but did not know it can be used on other rubber parts  nod.gif

A caution though. Once u go under the car..u will see something damage most probably. So u will x senang hati if you dont fix it. In my case, i found cracking at my driveshaft rubber boot and also my steering rack cover boot already pecah a bit.
So now im at the workshop fixing it lol

If kena water will it gone? Wanna reju my wiper y all outside rubber
*
Slowly slowly it will gone. Its similar like cooking oil. However it will leave a small coating on the rubber to prevent oxidation. What we really want is the chemical to soften back our rubber. So dont wash it immediately after you spray. Leave it on for as long as u can.

Bro Balanced after i changed my steering rack bush to silicone type, ada this squecking noise everytine turn the steering wheel.

Is it silicone type bush is noisier? I feel regret tho. Shud have buy the rubber type

But im not sure if it is the steering column issue but the squecking noise is loud after changing silicone rack bush

Can advise bro?
*
The two solid bush wont be rubbing anything, so it won't have any sound if its tight and installed properly. Some other problem..wrong installation? Wrong bushing? Or the squecks come from other place.

silicon spray is short term use no?

Nope. Its maintenance item. Prolong your bushings lifespan.
Just take 30 minutes to spray all je for rm15 cost. Spray twice a year enough.
