I think the stock was distributed not equally sufficient for Digi warehouse. Since then Digi is a telco and warehouse is sharing covers the whole Malaysia under (One) 1 warehouse, I think? No matter its a personal or business Digi line, the stock is all sharing the warehouse so i think Digi ways of doing and managing the stock is far. Whereas resellers on carousell/shopee/lazada/garage sales as you mentioned or some Machines retailers has some ready stock, because it is depends on the area of the retail as physical person walk in and buy so that is why they have ready stock, mange their own store than managing the whole Malaysia or not sure how they contact and get the restock from their suppliers.
But one thing for sure is that, I have not receive my device ever since I signed up for Digi business on 11 Nov. One of the cons here is cannot track the progress of the device whether (waiting list/pending/device is on the way delivery/it is currently out of stock but without giving notice to the customers) but i think once the device is one the way, they probably will make a call before delivery take place. But without tracking number ( that one you personally have to make a call and ask them to give) unlike personal Digi lines or online purchase the device, you still have the order number and tracking numbers right.)
I signed up on 11 Nov and received SMS on 18 Nov said it is successfully switched to the expected plan (which means the plan has been approved) Received new SIM card but did not provide any updates on device. I am be like waiting blindly. Called 4 times Digi business helpline in a week said she will redirect me to the sales person to talk on Monday but did not receive any calls from them. Availably on 6 Nov to preorder. I was signed up on 11 Nov. so does that means that I was late for after few days to signed up, Digi is really that lack of stock for the iPhone 12 Pro ? HAHA
I think at least they give a call to inform customers that it is really facing shortage of store for the iPhone 12 Pro and due to some reasons, at least provide to the customers reasonable answers and estimate time to restock and to receive right, I do not believe they don't even know when to restock right, there is gonna be someone who knows that it is out of stock in their warehouse so they have to get the stock from their supplies estimate how many unit of devices needs to restock in order to fulfill customers needs while many customers are still waiting for their device. BUT, they don't have that service yet, i did not receive updates from them about my device. Making me worry and I'm rushing due to personal reason, did not thought of that after few days I signed up on 11 Nov with Digi business, are facing these kind of issue due to the Hype of iPhone 12 Pro models.
This is probably my first and ever experience bad service for Digi business. lesson learned.
