Tinfoil hat on, take it with a grain of salt.
I think its because over time google became more proficient in collecting data for ads for your phone. I mean how else to explain androids mysterious battery drain when you sleep?
Android phones in general routinely drained at least 5% overnight for me regardless of turning wifi, data or whatever off whereas my iphone with everything on barely drains 2%.
Couldn't agree more. I don't think it's just Google though - the phone makers themselves are equally guilty - well, at least, that's my experience with Samsung and Xiaomi. I can turn off mobile data and WiFi and I've seen my current Xiaomi phone (Redmi Note 10 Pro) drains as much as 7%-8% overnight and I've seen about 5%-6% drain on my previous Samsung devices. I remember the last Samsung phone I bought, when I opened it to set it up there was an update installed and thereafter the "optimizing app" message was displayed and it showed that it was optimizing some 150-200 apps - and this was before I installed anything on the phone. So I do get triggered when a Samsung fan comes up to me and says "Oh, nowadays Samsung interface very clean, no bloatware..." Hahaha...

Not all Android phones are that bad though, I've had pleasant experiences with Realme phones that drain only 2%-3% overnight even with all settings left on.

I think Iphone 11 still using Intel modem while Iphone 12 is a qualcomm modem. But I have absolutely no idea if the 11 Pro was horrible. I know my friend's XR has a completely faulty Wifi modem that Apple will not acknowledge or repair or replace. He can only ever get decent wifi from the same room. In other words the signal strength is very poor for his unit.
I know 2 persons using Iphone 11 of various versions not heard anything about poor reception.
There is a good chance you may have a lemon. For my case, I have reasonably strong reception strength, it is the problem with my Androids that they don't seem to like too much RF. You know that a noisy spectrum will still require a good device to isolate the right frequency for communication while ignoring the noise. (I am not an RF guy).
I can say that standby drain for me with any android over the last 5 years in my office has been easily 3% per hour while with my Iphone 12 it is roughly less than 1% per hour. I hardly use my phone at work to be honest and there could be days I only use the phone less than 1.5 hours whole day. So, I may come home doing nothing much then ending up with only 40% or 50%. Now with the Iphone I can use it for 2 to 3 hours and come home with 60-70%, basically almost double the battery life due to a combination of low standby drain, and a confirmed 12-13% battery use per hour Screen ON.
Currently using an iPhone 11 after downgrading from an iPhone 12 and to be honest, I don't really see that much difference in signal strength although I've not done much real life testing on mobile data now that we are all mostly confined to our own homes and having the luxury of broadband, haha. I will say that when running speed tests more often than not the Intel modem would lag behind though.
