* UPDATED 22/1/2011 *
I know that you can actually check the compatibility of wireless router at the Nintendo WIFI website but I realized that those are for other countries and there aren't so many models listed there,so I thought of asking everyon here which router they used (Brand Name and Model Number) and state whether it is ...
1)No Problems with [console/handheld name] 2)Compatible but Minor Problems Encountered with [console/handheld name] (please state the problem) 3)Not Compatible with [console/handheld name] 4)Others (please state)
and I will post it here...
p/s: Even if the router you are using are currently listed here, please still state the brand ,model and console name so that I can list all the consoles that work for that certain router
*This is just a GUIDE*

Here's something you can ponder about: Can you receive TV signal from your room? Can you tune in to FM radio from your room? Does your cellphone get any reception in your room? Do two-way walkie talkies work in your room? If you answered yes to at least one of the above, then congratulations, your body is already exposed to electromagnetic radiation! See you on your death bed when you die of cancer later QUOTE(froz3nnoob @ Sep 27 2007, 06:15 PM) Get this Wi-Fi Link can be use on all Wi-Fi device such as nintedo DS PSP and laptop etc etc^^ solve all the problem =) and it quite cheaper then any router! http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dy-49-en-70-1g1l.htmlA quick check of ThunderMatch's online pricelist gives me this: WL830RT4 : RM99.00 Cycom's pricelist lists the same product at RM115.00. Tested D-Link DIR655 - quick connect to wi-fi, smooth surfing using internet channel and 100% signal rate despite router also set to MAC filtering and SPI firewall. Using US Wii. Router oso doing heavy p2p and radio streaming to 2 wired PCs at the same time. downside is this most expensive. Cheers!

From www.nintendowifi.com: QUOTE Error Code: 52000
Our experience has shown that this error message is typically caused by a basic setting in your router, such as transmission rate. Please carefully read the instructions below:
* Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. 1. Click here to go to our Wireless Router Configuration page. 2. Use the drop-down box on the left to select, if available, your router manufacturer. 3. Click on your router's model number, if available. 4. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing the settings found in the Special Notes. Follow the instructions and test the connection.
* If the router is not listed on our pages, or has no suggested basic rate and transmission rate changes, log into the router, and check likely areas for the basic rate and transmission rate. (e.g., "Wireless Settings," "Advanced Wireless Settings," "Connection Rates") Change the basic rate to "1-2." Change the transmission rate to "2." (Make the change even if only one of those options is available). Test the connection.
* Another device may be sharing the same I.P. address of the DS. Try manually assigning an IP address to your Nintendo DS. 1. The first thing you'll need to do is find out what IP address range you should be using. To do this: 1. Click the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of your computer. 2. Click "Run." 3. Type "cmd" into the box and press Enter. 4. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press Enter. The IP address of the PC will be displayed. 5. The IP address you are going to assign to the Nintendo DS must be 10 digits higher than the PC's. (e.g., 192.168.1.100 becomes 192.168.1.110). 6. Enter in the exact same values for your Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS. 2. You will now need to manually assign this new IP address to your Nintendo DS. For step-by-step instructions on how to do this, please click here.
If you are still unable to connect, please call 1-800-255-3700 in the USA or Canada for more information.
Connecting from a non-partnered Hotspot:
* The access point at the Hotspot may not be experiencing problems. Ask the staff on site if their Wi-Fi network is up and running.
* If the Hotspot's access point has a built-in firewall or other security that interferes with the necessary transmissions from the Nintendo DS, then the access point will not be compatible with the Nintendo DS.
* Try another Hotspot. To search for known Hotspots in your area, click here.

QUOTE(deanja92 @ Feb 2 2008, 07:54 PM) Okay, will let you know later. Thanks. Hello people, Gave a call to Dlink toll-free number yesterday regarding issues with my DWA 140 adapter which keep dropping the reception signal. I was advised to uncheck the auto channel and select either channel 1 or 11. Did just that and magically my beloved Wii was connected without any hitch. Surf the net for a couple of minutes but when I tried to connect to FIFA 08 EA server, halfway it got disconnected. Will investigate further.

Disconnects would eventually happen due to various reasons. Streamyx too slow. Wifi signal not good, always cut. etc. etc. Stuff like that. But if you want to ensure for the best, and clearest online experience on the Wii(like for playing Brawl, or something), it's best to get the ethernet/LAN adapter.

QUOTE(Heero Yuy @ Jan 10 2008, 09:01 PM) I'm using PCi BLW-54MF. made for gaming. And you should notice a picture of a NDS a PSP and a wii on the box. Hi I just bought the Wii (US version, Jusco Mid valley). I am look forward to making it internet connected with PCi BLW-54MF router. This router priced something that I can afford. However I am not familiar with routers and Wii so I have a few questions. 1) Where does a router connect? Is it connected to our modem or directly to streamyx? 2) Is there any setup to do with the router such that I may need to call TMnet? 3) So just the router is enough to make my Wii connected? Wii is equiped to sense the routers presence? 4) What is the difference between using the router or the USB wifi dongle? 5) Do I even need to buy the Wii LAN adapter? I think not but I want to make sure. 6) When connected does the Wii interfere with connection on my computer makes the ping on comp high? 7) Does router requires my computer to be on? Can I get connected when comp is off for example? 8) I understand you need password for your Wii to get connected. Where can I obtain this password? BTW I havent set anything on the Wii setting regarding with internet connection. 9) Is there a Wii supprt in Malaysia?

I'm advised by one of us here to post this here: I sure u all know this new product from Nintendo. http://wifi.nintendo.co.jp/wap/index.htmlI have my own Wifi router that is using WPA2 for security. All my devices (laptops, desktops, NAS storages, PDAs, PSPs, even Wii) can connect using WPA2 without any problem. Except NDS. Everytime I wanna multiplay NDS, I need to switch from WPA2 to WEP, then switch back once I'm done with NDS. This is #$%@ing troublesome. With this Nintendo Wireless Router, I can set it to bridge mode and connect it to my existing router via a LAN cable, and configure it to WEP, so that my NDSs, and my friend NDSs can search and connect to it, instead of my existing router. The problem is - what if other laptop found this Nintendo Wireless Router (that is using WEP), and decided to hack it and gain access. Will they able to see my network? Will they able to access to the internet? Is there any better way/alternative of doing this? Linksys with DD-WRT can do?

WGR614v5 no probs (though it took me a bloody long time to actually get connected to Streamyx in the first place - hours and hours of troubleshooting just couldn't solve the problem).
Note: This router can suffer from over-heating problems that lead to unexplainable line drops (unless you realise that the router is overheating). An online check on this router had many haters out there but it eventually worked fine for me after a year or so of PMSing.

planex GW-US54Mini2N work perfectly with the NDSI... ( a little networking idea needed to set up the softap) i use manual IP... remember to copy the DSN ip from your router.... example... on the planex adapter... iPv4 192.168.0.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway empty
DNS server 1 XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX DNS server 2 XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (get this from your router or lan card propeties...)
on your NDSI 192.168.0.XXX (range 2-254) subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.1
DNS server 1 XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX DNS server 2 XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (same as above)
