Wow... I'm so glad to have such positive replies from all of you! Appreciate all!

Purpose :
Plan to have some DIY work from Rack, Stool, Bench, Small Island, cupboard to hanging on ceiling or wall to lay Rockwool on it!

Look for Pinewood because I have not much knowledge about wood and wood board (always use plywood in the past, aiyo... can't tahan la...)

Pinewood looks nice, and perhaps cheaper? Not sure.

As I know solid wood quite expensive wasn't it? And will that easy to handle during work processing?

Your inspirations are appreciated!

Been playing pallet wood for 3 years now. Just a hobbyist. I get my supply from either factories or Mudah sellers.

From factory is rough pine wood and good for rustic feel.

Sellers usually already planed the wood so its more uniform, best for furniture and so on.

Have fun.

That's and what I wish start from! At first,I thought pinewood in Malaysia is pricey! Not at all?
Mind to share the seller contact like Facebook or Shopee account?
Eh, showcase your masterpiece Bro 😁

*

Cool! Will check it out!

Pine wood is considered soft wood ad thus good for not so serious furniture. If its for serious furniture then need proper bracing from other wood or metal.

Pine wood is nice for finishing as its fair wood. However, its not weather friendly. That you will need either multiple layers of paint or polyurethane.

No masterpriece bro. All like rough work. Make stuff not for sale. Just to pass time. LOL

Wow... This is so informative to a newbie ! Thanks.
So, if build for Sit like Stool? What's the minimum requirement of wood (type) should start from?

** out of topic sikit:
Regarding paints to prevent woods or boards damage from water (like plywood on cheap toilet's door), what's your recommendations?

QUOTE(pretty23 @ Nov 19 2020, 09:06 AM)

Boleh tp jgn complainla nanti kalau dpt kayu buruk.  Kalau baca comment kat shoppee tu usually noob je, kalau ko pandai dpt kayu buruk kikis tampal with plaster and syelek la balik. No. Prob. Banyak comment dpt kayu buruk la hape la dha harga pun murah
*
Haha. Berilmu! Syelek tu tak cantik ya?! I like natural color la. Tapi apa bahan utk sapu selepas finish?

QUOTE(Hades76 @ Nov 23 2020, 08:58 AM)
For proper protection, you will need paint as in coloured paint. They offer the best protection for weather ( sun and water ). Polyurethane works the same but its a clear coat. This you will need to apply multiple layers which is kinda leceh.

Some old school people even use diesel to paint the soft wood for water resistance. Diesel will be absorbed into the wood and makes it waterproof. However this will stink for a while.

Plywood use paint if you can. If possible dont use plywood for toilet ( wet ) doors. After a while it will split. My plywood in the house after 1.5 years split also even though its dry and indoors.

For stools I like to use the pallet brace, which is thicker. If you notice a pallet has the top face ( which is lots of small wood ) and below it there is like a brace ( usually 3 pieces). I use the brace for stool legs as its thicker and can handle more weight.
*
Appreciate, so informative! So, what's the best material for coating? I like natural color. As mentioned above, I think Syelek not so nice, look old-school. Haha. And I don't like kilat kilat.

** out of topic!
Toilet Plywood Door. As we know bottom side always wet till damaged! I wish to do some repair instead of replace! Any suggestion?

Go around industrial area. Bring hammer. Ask the shop if you can have a few of the pallet. Use hammer to remove nails and you have pallet wood for free!!!
*
Haha. At first, I thought you wanted to play jokes 😂 But this is a good idea huh! So, normally they don't keep?

QUOTE(hiro_saw @ Nov 25 2020, 09:11 AM)
you can contact them to customize the measurement as well, their prices are reasonable
