No resale value is probably right because most cars in Malaysia got no resale value except Toyota & Honda. Reliability is a perception issue due to the bad reputation of Korean cars in early days of Hyundai and Kia in Malaysia. A lot of people in Malaysia already have the mindset that Korean cars are lower quality than Japanese cars. Those who actually bought a Korean cars in the last 5 years will probably tell a different story.
