have an old classical guitar found in storeroom from my father and want to replace the old string.

Any feedback on the shop? And roughly how much for new string + service installation to be expected?

just go buy the string and change it

service prob costs about 200 ish depending on what you do , but thats a good ballpark figure

if you are a beginner, TGS is one of the more beginner friendly stores

wew. 200 for changing of strings? i got my dad's old guitar's strings changed for free in pj when i was still a newbie. i only had to pay the cost of the strings. i told the owner of the store how old the guitar was and he even played the guitar for a bit. :/

you can even change the strings yourself. helps if you play the guitar to be able to tune it or you can use any free phone app to tune your guitar too.

Usually, a luthier not just just change strings but also do other check ups like intonation and trust rod alignment. Also string and pick up heights. If just change strings, yes, anyone can do but people usually send to professionals because of other stuffs like I mention above. That's why it cost a bit.

If electric guitars then if it's old maybe need to change the pods or do rewiring etc.

However, if you just play at home youself then it does not really matter but my experience sending my guitar to professional for restring and set up made my guitar sounded better and playing much smoother.
