it appear several times in my room on my private gathering.
as well as during end of 2008, that beyer was burnt due to some improper designed china dac+amp, so one side voice coil is gone. total death.
and i perform a driver transplant of the beyer.

and recently (last 2 months) that darthbeyer was send to me due to some problem with the sleeve of cable, as well as the owner hope me to reduce half the amount of the bass..
and... it's really like stuff 2 X 12" subwoofer into your ear...
the bass extension seems to overlapping with each other. lol

i had once heard "newer" version of darthbeyer, and imho that improved a lot from the dt770 version i repaired.

my dt770 is always been a test unit.
it's opened again and again. or use to show people in private gathering, about structure of headphones... ect. ect..
i think i won't do any mod on it..
shall anyone have spare money to mod Dt770. i will really suggest that save the money up and opt for dt880 or dt990. better choice.

tested @faezfarhan's TTD with the DT770, i must say i has good synergy with the cans but it needs to be really warm to show its potential. it made the bass lesser but tighter and mids really sing with the tubes. i supposed its a hybrid amp eh?

i kinda like the Dzero too., consider the price and form factor.
i not yet try the sound yet. but the shape is so sexy.
if it sound good. maybe i buy one, and use double sided tape stick it on my notebook monitor screen... AHAHAHA

they are better cans than my dt770s. i loved em for their openness and seperation

we're both in the same boat, and now funding for an amp. sigh. i cant get 100% out of my dt770

Btw I took my housemate's ATH-M50 for testing just now. After like 5 minutes, I took it off and put my DT880 back on

M50's highs aren't sharp at all i can assure u that. M50's sound is leaning towards warmer side.

comparing DT770 and M50. M50 tend to give "cleaner" bass which is good for dubstep and alike. And yes it not sharp at all. Pretty much pleasant to listen too personally
