I am just hoping for someone who gone no-show on the 11 Dec 2020 , and I will snag his/her pre-order and buy that PS5 cash and carry on that day itself.

Sony Centres are technically not allowed to take any deposits for any form of pre-orders.

Some of them did it anyway, and they issued temporary receipts , with company stamping, NOT the official receipt.
There is a condition that prevents them from accepting payment in advance.

Sony Centres are different from game shops, and different from Sony authorized dealers.

The correct practice is a waiting list, first come first serve.
For example 100 units of PS5 , the list has 110 names. If one of among the first 100 is no-show , the unit will goes to the 101st customer name in the list.

If that is how it is done, then I am betting on that I am the 101st. Trying my luck.

Chances are it can be a no-show , or it can be something else happened causing someone to cancelled the pre-order. This is a RM2299 item, someone might suddenly need money for something else.
After all, it is all happen by chance and a bit of luck. You don't try, you will never know.

I totally refuse to buy from scalpers.
And I encourage all of you here don't do that also.

This is a game console, it is not even a limited edition, and it is not a vintage thing and never will. It is an electronic product and it has a lifespan. Someday in future, a newer, better and more powerful version will replace it, just like PS5 replaces a PS4. When manufacturer firmware & hardware support stops, the product has reached the end of its lifecycle. It may still works, and it will rely on 3rd party parts and repairs should anything go faulty.

With all these reasoning, the PS5 shouldn't be seen as higher than its retail price value.
