Don't get too fed up yet if you happen to miss all the pre-orders .

Apparently there are still merchant which refuse to participate in the pre-order war, instead they have decided to open up the sales of available PS5 stocks to the public on 11.12 .

Gaming Gadgets 1U being one of them .

This is what they said :
QUOTE
i went to 1U and ask just now but one of the staff told me they not taking any preorder and there's no waiting list. Only direct walk in during Dec 11

If you missed the pre-order and don't mind getting your wallet exploited , that's fine .

Several retailers will have some stocks of SG PS5 going for next couple of weeks along with an absurd price tag .

Nope, no calls whatsoever. Did you get a call?
*
I didn't get calls from them either .

Called them back justnow , apparently they do [and will] get a small amount of stocks from Sony on 11.12 but they refuse to disclose the numbers .

While they cannot make a solid promise on the exact delivery date , the current estimate delivery date for my order is still 11/12 which I assume is still within the first batch .

Is this from senq/senheng also? Where did you see the current estimate delivery date?
*
Yes senheng , I asked them specifically for my order .

It is either that or they have yet to make me as one of the affected customers .

Ya, at the end just simply pick random name and put on the wheel

Did they shared the live event ? You have to be tagged sharer to be listed on the wheel .

For casual gamer, can opt for lg oled. Once u go oled, u never go back.

For hardcore gamer, find samsung qled or sony x90h

How does that logic works even for you ?

Wow, all showing off their TVs now eh?
*
What's there to show off ? We are just looking for the best picture quality within our affordability .

If they wanna brag , maybe someone should show us that BTS 178" Samsung Quantum Dots OLED .
Or the LG Rollable OLED if you are that bangsar guy who imported it for over half a million ringgit .

Is panasonic-th43hx650k good enuf for basic gaming 4k?
*
That model would fall into the category of tv with more but not better pixels .

Question to all the LG OLED owners here:

I saw from a YouTube review that the LG CX HDMI 2.1 ports cannot handle the full 48Gbps bandwidth.

Do you think this has an impact on 4K 120hz gaming? I know I should wait until next year, but my current TV is just 1080p without HDR...idk if I can wait that long to upgrade lol
*
The new gen consoles are using HDMI 2.1 chipset with 40Gbps bandwidth , so unless you are planning to use it as PC monitor it isn't a dealbreaker .

Compare with panasonic th hx650k.. samsung or panasonic better deal?
*
The major difference between them is still the screen type , both of the Samsung's are VA and thus better suited for dimmer room while the Panasonic IPS TV for brighter , bigger room .

The lack of support for Dolby Vision is fine for gaming for now , big brands has a built in dynamic tone mapping function nowadays .

But the absence of WCG can be problematic when TV try to map colors according to the HDR metadata .
Since the expression of wider color space and volume are both fundamental of HDR , you are better off completely turning off HDR on these TV .

Pretty sure it is still him.

I met him in Sony's OLED event last year , if I recall he said he came from the marketing team of middle east Sony .

Especially remembered him well because his english has been improving by quite a lot by years .

Wow just saw someone from FB blast sony malaysia for giving HG Time more units to pre order (200 units) lol
*
The real question here being , how can he/she be so sure others aren't getting 200 or possibly more units ?

Just because they told you they were only getting 50 units , doesn't mean they are telling the whole story.

Perhaps their staff's entire family and friends end up reserving a few units just to turn scalpers later ?

I know for a fact that 3 big stores did the same shit , You can already register your interest with them a year ago .
Also the fact that they called me on the same day Sony made announcement , asking for extra money to " preserve " a unit .

Unsurprisingly some cheesy ass fanboi is going after my back in that same day .

Only reason I am not as forthcoming as some is because I still want to maintain a good standing with the store since I get big discount from them .
Let's look at how many scalpers putting a new PS5 for sale on mudah , shopee and carousell on 11.12.

I would imagine the launch day PS5 would sell even for RM4000 , you are making almost 2000 bucks more from each unit .
That is quite a temptation .

Its dumb to lash out at Sony without knowing what's going on behind the scene .

I don't know how it's possible to mess up the covers. You'd have to be high AF or blind not to notice a missing disc drive before putting the cover on.

Furthermore, the factory is 90% machine operated....
*
Is that PS5 Unit from US ?

I heard the PS5 from Japan is assembled in Japan while for the rest of the world they are assembled in China .

To say China's QA is crap is an understatement , much worse than Indonesia .

Even LG's OLED has a 7% defection rate from Guang zhou compare to 2% from Indonesia .

I was following 2chan , not to say the Japanese PS5 owners didn't encounter any problems but so far it seems to be much less severe than the one in US.

Missing a disc drive sounds like something that would happen in China yea , a place where they sell you houses with hand-painted fake windows .

Cheaper at Rm3599 on Lazada. But 2 years warranty and no free gift. Is this is the best TV with specs for PS5?
*
Best bang for the bucks , yes .

But best tv ? nope , far from it .

tl;dw: At 32 Gbps means it can only output max 4K 120hz at 4:2:2 chroma i.e less color accuracy, but can still output 4K 60hz 4:4:4

*
Correction there , not accuracy but color information . This could have side effects ranging from loss of color texture [especially fonts] details , color bit depth information , color bandings between gradation of palette , also the potential incompatibility with Dolby Vision due to DV using 16bit pre-upscaled canvas .

However in this case Sony did not forsake DV for this reason , it was because they did not ***king pay Dolby .
