That's a really weird heatsink.

Damn long for the website to load the pictures.

Anyway, I think the fins are just too near! This would prevent good air flow, especially with time when some dust collects in between the fins.

And imagine the difficult when you want to clean it!!! Probably have to dip in water to totally make it dust-free!!!

fins need to be close with each other for maximum pressure IIRC.

look like tuniq120 but facing downward, good for cooling the mobo but circulating hot air in casing. if only there is company that make rotate able/customable heatpipe; rotate to face exhaust or facing mobo

it's designed to be such. YEah the fin to fin pitch is rather small, which a higher pressure fan will do better. But neah who cares, if it performs well, it's in my book

Ya, but like kuchingfight said, you would need a high pressure fan to push air through them. This would probably mean higher noise level right?

I'm thinking about the long term effect when it gets stuck with dust!!!

Yup should be one bloody noisy cooler..I used to use a TT pipe 101..pretty good HSF for its price(can fight with even some of the Thermalright HSF), doesn't come with a fan so you can pick your own, but OMG the noise...damn thing has fins spaced about 1mm from each other..need a bloody powerful fan..

And the dust..good grief..had to clean it out every 3 months..or it gets so clogged that the cooling efficiency drops like a stone.. Also impossible to run without a fan even on efficient, cool running processors because too much restriction for heat convection to occur..

This kind of heatsinks with close spaced fins can give better performance than any other heatsink out in the market when used with high pressure fans, but needless to say the noise is ('Silent'maxx; yeah right) And they are even more mantainence intensive than most WC sets..you gotta clean them often..

Just get those high static pressure fan. It is not that noisy as you thought.

What's a high static pressure fan? Can give an example?

I'm not an expert in fans but in my opinion, to get a high-pressure low rpm fan, you would probably need a thicker type of fan, or more blades, right?
