And I hope they never will, Chromium needs a competitor to keep it in check to prevent Google from doing things that are not with the users benefits in mind (such as previously they tried to introduce some browser integrity thing)
(Sure there is Apple Safari with WebKit but barely anyone uses it willingly)

Internet Explorer/MS Edge dropped Trident/EdgeHTML and moved to Chromium
Opera dropped Presto and moved to Chromium

Firefox with Gecko is the last major browser that isnt Chromium

Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, its all chromium underneath

Yes, FireFox is completely a separate browser, and I don't think it uses anything from Chrome.

Right. I like firefox desktop but not the mobile..

I hope too they won't switch to chromium

Brave suits me for both

Brave is the bestest, it's just a degoogled version of chrome recompiled with adblockers and tons of other privacy features...

google paid mozilla because google dont want end up like the old day microsoft internet explorer monopoly
