Wow all the benchmark and reviews look pretty great.
This might be my first Macbook I will purchase, almost pulled the trigger on early 2020 Macbook air last time, lucky I held off because of thermal issue people reported.

Any idea when will this be available in MY? It's usually like a week after SIRIM approval, wonder if it has been approved..don't know how to check..

Interested with this macbook air M1, but it seems there are a lot of problems those reviewers didnt reveal?

Although link says Macbook Pro, but should be same for air since the diff is only fanless.

What do you guys think? Now I am having doubt to buy this.

Early reviewers are not paid by Apple, but they are all handpicked by Apple to loan them the devices before general release. So generally the reviews tend to be on the positive side. It doesn't mean that they are biased, just they will highlight the good stuff more.

On the other hand, you have websites like Forbes which is well known to talk crap about Apple while displaying obtrusive ads all over the place. Just check out their so-called 'reviews' on any Apple product. They all go along the lines of "Don't get me wrong, the [Apple product] is by all means excellent, but it is actually terrible."

If you are interested in the MacBook Air, you can check out MacRumors forums. You can get honest feedback from real users there. In my opinion, the M1 is without a doubt, a first gen product. Apple may have been planning it for years but real world testing has just begun. Don't expect it to be flawless. However, I believe most of the incompatibility issues will be solved within a year. It is up to you whether to wait and see or be an early adopter.

Hmm, what you mentioned about early reviewer is basically showing they are biased though.
The Forbes highlighted several incompatibility issues that objectively can’t be disputed. Unless it’s an isolated case for that reviewer.

I guess I will wait out instead of buying this in December.

Done reading the so-called "review" by Forbes. Don't you think the review is not logic at all?

Which part? Some are specific to user preferences (external display etc), but incompatibility with the programs he mentioned look legit.

From my experience of buying through Apple Online Store, they will email you the receipt upon confirming delivered to your doorstep. Dated on the day of you receiving the parcel, or some times +-2 days. You definitely wont be able to declare the tax for Y2020 reduction for this purchase.

Interesting, I thought the receipt is attached with the product.
If I could miss YA2020 tax relief might not go for this haha..

I noticed people who bought non-BTO MacBooks received their MacBooks early. What do you think of my chances receive my MBA before Christmas next week when I’m supposed to receive between 30/12 and 7/1?

My friend's Macbook supposed to arrive on 25Dec++ but it arrived 1 week earlier (18Dec), non-BTO though.
You might still have chance to receive by christmas based on your arrival ETA.

Meanwhile mine is ordered on Dec 16th and the arrival estimate is already early Jan'21.
