The MBP is targeted for pro-user, they will need a laptop capable of doing high workload task like compiling programs, rendering videos etc.

These types of workloads demands for a powerful chip. To achieve this, the MBP needs to have a higher thermal budget to work with and with that, it is capable of ramping up to a higher clock speed and the ability to sustain peak performance consistently for a long period.

I believe the MBA will bursts out its peak performance only for a short period of time and throttle afterwards, otherwise the heat will start to build up.

Just hope MacBook Air won’t have desolder issue like the old MacBook 12’, even low spec celeron laptop w/o fan have this issue after long time

Try google MacBook 12 cpu issue amd there is plenty, I just don’t have confidence for fanless laptops as got bad experience before and around me.
