Hi guys, need some advice over here.

I thinking to grab MBP M1 need some advice on my usage.

Mostly use for paperwork, basic photo editing (PS & AI), watching movie, music.

I guess won't go for gaming at anytime now.

So I was thinking do I need to get 16GB ram for 256GB model?
Storage wise I think if there is a need, I can always look for external hard-disk right?

Hopefully you are correct as I ordered the baseline 8GB and 256GB storage. Status still processing ..sigh

And as usual now looking for various accessories. Coming from Lenovo Mix520, where accesories are scarce I found for this macbook got too many. Anything essentials? My work involves mobility (need a good and slim back) and i like to get some protection for my macbook air (expensive item). Also will need more ports.

How is the camera and mic as now wfh and will need to have all the main online meeting platform to work correctly microsoft team, zoom, webex and google meet. with my lenovo miix i use my samsung s8 AKG and it works perfectly hopefully no problem here.

Will value any suggestions. This is my 1st time to have a mac as my go to laptop.

Is it reliable to buy high value item from oversea? Will you have to pay taxes after the product has landed?

I am torn between getting MBA or MBP. I guess for future-proof, MBP will be better choice?

it depends on one's needs i guess. for me i don't really do rendering, etc. very very minimal of those, 8gb would be more than enough for me, easily for the next 5 years.

How about running softwares like sketchup pro does it effect the ram too?

i've talk to apple advisor and they said apple care only can be purchase within 60 days from the day we purchase the mac. but i've read somewhere that we can purchase that within 1 year. which one is correct?

Hi, I am looking to buy my first apple product in like...ever. I found out about the education store. And it seems like I can just checkout the cart without any sort of verification.

Is it okay to get from the education store? I would be able to save quite a lot since I am planning to get the 16/512GB version.

Edit: I am not sure to get the 16/512 or 8GB/1TB version.

Hi all. I'm thinking of buying the MBA. Doing some research - what's a good recommended hub since the MBA only has 2 ports? Already need 2 USB ports for house and external keyboard usually. Also I've been reading a bit on the PD thing (but don't totally understand fully) that could brick the device, is that something I should worry about?

Sorry to hear your experience. I have both Windows 11 and Mac machine. Both were awesome. Windows for my primary home machine and Mac for portable when I'm out traveling.

Hi, seeking some insight on Apple Protection Plan, as I know applecare+ is not available in Msia. Can someone point out what is covered under the additional 2 years warranty?

Can I assume it’s similar to the standard 1 year warranty with a new device?
