My MBA can't get network access after switch on or logon from sleep and it has connected with my home wifi & even hotspot(and this problem exist since day 1). However, my wifi have no issue with all my other devices. I had tried reinstall the macOS and reset my wifi configuration & router after guided by live chat support several times but the problem still exist(even restart doesn't helps).

Throughout the past few days, I've discovered a way to access the network by running the Diagnostic Report(Option+Wifi icon).
It seems like the diagnostic report somehow does trigger something in my MBA because my internet is mystically back to life whenever I click 'start' on the diagnostic report. So far, this method hasn't disappoint me yet but it definitely quite frustrated as days go by because I've to do it everytime before I start using this MBA. sweat.gif

So hopefully the call support on upcoming monday can help me get rid of this or best is offer me a replacement  tongue.gif .

Is there by any chances theres a USB 3.0 thumbdrive connected to the Mac? I faced this frustrating situation before but upon removing all peripherals specifically my sandisk ultrashift usb 3.0 pendrive, the connection magically recovers.

My advice is not to use that sort of hub unless the laptop is constantly sitting on a desk. The hub itself takes 2 USB C ports and I would recommend the hubs that use just a single USB C port. I have 3 different hubs and I find the one which just uses a single USB C port the most useful. Initially I gotten the same with the dual USB C inputs, then when I purchased a new monitor which had a USB C connection, I found that with that hub, there is only 1 power delivery USB C and I can't connect the monitor to it.

Also the 2 port usb hub sometimes tend to become slanted over time. Slanted like heavy gpu in pc doh.gif

Slanted due to attaching many devices via the hub overtime ya?
*
Slanted due to thick cables like RJ45 or HDMI connected to the hub. The cables' thick/heavy head causes the usb hub's 2 male ports to bear full weight of it. But other peripherals like usb etc are mostly ok and wouldn't cause any problem.

my macbook air just got bricked yesterday,

connect to my usb-c hub with hdmi cable on it, leave it to sleep and charge, next morning dead

the laptop wont turn on and there is a ticking like noise when i press the power button

looks like the issue is related to usb-c port with PD (power delivery),

so pls get a proper usb-c hub and certified apple thunderbolt devices.

Other than that i love everything about it, doing work, compile some huge code works so much faster than my own desktop

Sorry for getting a lil bit confused. But what you meant was, the charger is connected to the PD port of the ALX Hub alongside with HDMI and then it got bricked? Thats terrifying shocking.gif

yup, if you need to connect to a monitor via usb-c then better get a proper one from apple for now
*
Noted on that. However, if I'm planning to only use the usb-c on the hub to connect ssd, will that also might brick the macbook? Or is it just PD charging related.

Thanks for bringing up the issue with PD charging on the M1 guys.

I'm a bit bummed 'cos I already purchased all my adapters with PD charging - but it's ok. I can live with it. I've taped up all the USB-C ports on the adapters just to be safe. sweat.gif

Same same. Don't want to take any risk. But maybe can still use the USB-C ports for peripherals? hmm.gif
