Before I start this off, I'm in no way a watch collector or enthusiast, I just want to have a watch that looks good, decent quality and suitable to my age - 26. My requirements is simple
- Minimalist - Elegant - Affordable - Quality ( lasts long and doesn't spoil easily )
With the above said, I've done my part of the research, and the first impression that I got, well technically the second, because the first impression that I had was how sleek and nice this watch is. But after some research, most people would tell you not to get this watch, because of it's "low" quality with overpriced pricing. Like I said, I have no idea about watches, the first and only watch that I have and am using currently is a G-Shock. Been using it for 1-2 years, only got into wearing watches few years ago, and that costs me about RM 600+ at the time. I figured it's not a bad time to change to a new watch, with a new look, much more professional / smart casual looking watch, as my G-Shock makes me looks like a teen in his 18-20s. So I started researching about DW watches, but most of the comments and reviews are about the same, so I wanna ask for opinion here. The one that caught my eye is the Classic Cornwall Rose Gold for Men. Pros & Cons and more detailed information and feedback will be much appreciated !

QUOTE(briantwj @ Nov 10 2020, 01:26 PM) Go for watchmaker brand, like Seiko, Casio, Orient, Citizen. Wont go wrong with any of these. For more budget friendly, can look at Orient and Casio. Do you wear it everyday? If yes, can go for automatic watch. Seiko doesn't appeal to me. I tried looking at Casio webiste, but they don't seem to have the similar minimalist design, did I miss out anywhere ?

QUOTE(saikuan @ Nov 11 2020, 03:00 PM) For me, fashion stuff is down to your preference and whether you think it's worth that price. DW in my opinion has become overpriced for its category. I would put them as online store fashion brand type (might not be anymore but still feels that way to me). For watches below RM1K, there's alot of choices even Tissot can be afforded. Something like this with discount can go down to maybe RM800? https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-my/shop/ti...ic-dream-3.htmlOfcoz, the idea to save and eventually get a good one that last is good but sometimes we just want something now, right? haha. Minimalist and affordable (RM500 range) brands to consider probably SKagen, MVMT, or Timex. Good for everyday wear and probably can last you a few years or more without issues. Thanks for ur feedback, regarding MVMT, I thought MVMT is the same as DW ? If we are calling DW a brand that is overpriced for the quality, and only strive very well on marketing, I heard a lot about MVMT doing the exact same as well, are they not ?

QUOTE(saikuan @ Nov 11 2020, 03:47 PM) some ppl told me MVMT still cheaper than DW but quality similar. Not sure coz never had one and I wouldn't pay more than a few hundred for these brands. If on good discount maybe can get just for casual wear. haha. There's alot of cheap watches that depend on socmed marketing nowadays. I have one from UK called Tayroc which i won on IG contest a couple of years back. around RM500, looked simple and not bad quality for casual wear. Just set a budget and go for the design that you like. If you think it's worth it, then go for it. Your taste for the watches would probably change as you age so don't think too much. As for quality, sometimes i feel it's a luck thing for me regardless of brands. I have some cheap fashion watches that are still very good after 6-7 years. Got it bro, thanks a lot !

QUOTE(sinbad2k @ Nov 11 2020, 04:15 PM) If fashion is all you're after, then go ahead by all means. But the fact is, it's just another one of those fashion watches that try to make itself look classy and all. Same as other fashion watches like gucci, prada, cerutti, etc.. Having said that, if DW's style fulfil you needs, then go ahead. It's just that from perspective of a watch ppl, the watch doesn't worth the price paid. Have you looked at Skagen watches? I did, I'm still browsing over and at the end I'll be going to shops that sell watches and have a look again at those brands before deciding.

QUOTE(sinbad2k @ Nov 12 2020, 10:24 AM) At your age, maybe what fashion matters to you now. In the next 5-10 years, whatever fashion watches you purchase now would probably not suit you then. Watch ppl will usually advise you purchase something that could stand the test of time..i.e. something that doesn't go out of fashion easily (and suit your age). This doesn't matter if you're into watches now and will change to something different in the next few years..Ultimately, it depends on what your needs are and what you're seeking from wearing the watch. Good luck finding your watch. Share what watch you bought later. Thanks alot for the advice bro. I agree with what u said. I will definitely post here after I bought a watch that I really like and would suit me.
