I still have the 1st iphone (so called 2G) with me. So far the only iphone with battery getting ‘fat’ is my 3GS & 6S. Resf are still okay. My tip will be, not to update the older iphone to the latest iOS. If not It’ll become lag kaw2..

Agree with this. Noticeable lag on my old iPhone 6S that my mom is using now. While for iPhone XS, i think iOS 14 kills the battery. It was still very good prior to upgrading to iOS 14.

Then why some iPhone user brags apple support 5 years of iOS

Probably because it only started to lag after 5 years ? Prior to upgrading to iOS 14 it was still okay.

iOS 14 is nice but it has its issues, particularly for a relatively new iPhone such as the iPhone XS. iPhone XS is my first iPhone that did not give me battery problem, that was until i upgraded to iOS 14. Overall battery performance is still okay but it wasn't as good as it was. Last time it can last me one day, like from 10AM to late evening around 9PM or so with lots of picture taking and video filming. Luckily i don't play game though.

Ic. Maybe if lot of users reported, apple can make a change. This is not the end of iOS 14 updates.

I only had the time to read back the last few pages (busy shopping for 11.11 tongue.gif), I thought maybe just 1-2 of us are switching from Android to iPhone for the first time, looks like I was wrong. laugh.gif

I have been using Android since 2012 and before that was on BlackBerry, to me there's no perfect phone, it's how you manage your expectation to fit into the reality.

iPhone 12 Pro Max will be my first iPhone and I'm really looking forward to it. I used to dislike iPhone thinking it is an overpriced device (it's still expensive for me lol) and I just can't justify the price. I'm a female and almost all the ladies that I know are using iPhone. I am a geeky person and I always think iPhone is just too simple for me. I do have an iPad by the way and have been using it since the first iPad. However, around 2014 I stopped doing fancy things for my phone, no more rooting and customizing ROM and I wanted a simpler phone with decent camera, so that year I thought of switching to iPhone 6, I bought a 6 Plus but eventually sold it off as sealed unit with profit. Didn't have the chance to use it. I continued sticking to Android and have changed a few models over the years.

Then, this year due to pandemic all of us are forced to stay at home and I tend to use a lot of Instagram. I realised a lot of my friends take nice photos for their stories and they are all using iPhone! I told myself, this year no matter what I have to change to iPhone. Later when the new iPhone was announced, I was sold by the look and its amazing camera.

Done deal, I'm here today waiting for my first iPhone to arrive on 13th (hopefully). I cannot guarantee I will like iOS as I feel Android still.gives me more freedom but I don't mind trying to experience it myself. That doesn't mean I'm ditching Android for good, I'm still having Android phone but will be demoted to be my spare phone and will still use it for things which require a lot of battery juice, like GPS.

Whether I will continue being in iOS camp or returning back to Android camp eventually, we shall see. laugh.gif

I started iphone since iphone 4. From that till now, I bought 1-2 android flagship models such as S7 during its launching day but I like iphone more than those. I just dont have reasons but I like the simplicity of iphone menu and the mail app is so perfect to me. Since S7, i didnot buy any android phone. Stick with iPhone and upgrade every 1-2 years.

You're right. I just want a phone that works. Custom here and there, if had time to do it it's ok. Example, I've used widgets in android back in 2012. It's terrible and never used it since.. haha

The phone case that allows magsafe charging looks a bit weird without magsafe on. Or is it just me?

Later some might claim, it's an illuminati sign

I must say this kind of vouchers are very rare. Banks are paying some incentives to encourage ppl to spend.

Thanks. Too bad, I don't own those bank cards.
Enjoy your new iPhone smile.gif

Yes, you need a matching cable to connect to pc, since the procedure needs the phone be connected via wire I guess

Well, didn’t you realize your plan was changed on the day you placed order? It was already counted from that day itself. I called Digi to ask and they said it needs to be changed first before we can buy at discounted price. In fact, we are doing it concurrently change and buy. It’s mentioned in their FAQ if I’m not mistaken. Other telcos also like that if I’m not wrong.
Well depends on your PC/laptop? My laptop has both type A and C, I used my old cable type A though no issue in backing up.
Yes, I have subscribed but haven’t tried yet. So far only Apple Music for free 3 months despite I am using Spotify.

Will probably subscribe to Apple One Family plan later after 3 months’ of free stuff is over. laugh.gif

My pc doesn't has type C usb and I don't have existing lightning cable. Should have future proof my pc, wasn't aware

Yeah. After picking up my phone from switch and reached home, I had to head out again to go grab USB to lightning cable as I need to transfer my whatsapp data from Android to iPhone using Dr.Fone  sweat.gif

Haha.. the trouble we go for new phone.

I noticed from apple official site, temperature of iphone while using is recommended 0-35°C.

You can find in YouTube, gaming with intensive games , temperature can shoot up to 45°C

Does this mean Not good using iPhone for long time in gps and gaming ?

Read about the quality issue of iphones in the android section. I'm surprised

Yes , iphone 12. The other iphone 12 thread also said no issues. Thanks

Apple use new sd x55 modem for 12 instead of the poor intel in iphone 11. Can check in YouTube.. terrible for 11 models sad.gif

Just had 2 long Microsoft Teams meeting - no issues whatsoever. Used both 4G and WiFi for the same meeting - travelled from one place to another while on the meeting. No disconnection and seamless transition from WiFi - 4G - WiFi. Not sure that was the “quality issue” android owners are raising about phones they don’t even own tongue.gif

Iphone 11 use intel modem which had the issues with 4G & wifi. Iphone 12 use qualcomm modem, which fellow lyn members said no issues =)

There's one article online I found, signal strength no longer an issue too in iphone 12

Oh, you were referring to the previous iPhones on Intel modem. Yeah, those were pretty OK, but not at the same level of Qualcomm modem. The LTE performance jump from my previous iPhone X and even Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos) was superb. See here in my previous post https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=98929685 no slow LTE now, unless the network itself is congested of course

Thanks for the effort to share the numbers.
To me now, iPhone 12 is the best all round phone officially released in 2020 for Malaysia.

Downside, being Nitpicking will be using passcode to unlock iphone due to wearing face mask & battery life. High refresh rate screen, I still don't understand the hype

Yeah, read about this news this morning. It seems our priorities have changed and it saddens me when we are not even prioritizing 5G anymore at this stage. Not trying to talk about politics here but things will be different if Gobind is still the minister. We can upgrade 4G and implement 5G concurrently, not slowing down the whole 5G implementation. Philippines and Thailand are ahead of us in term of this thinking. 5G brings new revolution and it’s part of Industry 4.0.

Our internet data plan is still expensive and slow compared to our neighbors too.

Wasn't aware sg is more expensive but their fixed line price/speeds are only a dream to have it here in Malaysia.
