not sure how accurate the info by DHL Customer Service Rep also, because I don't remember getting any email prior to delivery for any other Apple products..

you can go through the setup without inserting your apple id, security all those.

Then, update your iPhone.

After that, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to reset the iPhone

Once it finish reset, it'll show the setup screen again and this time you can go through the setup properly and you will be given the option to restore from backup as well.

guess I'll need to wait patiently for mine, currently sitting at delivery facility penang, and my area just next to airport xD

EDIT: my ETA is 16th tho, so receiving it today is counted as a bonus

It was better than my old iTunes backup and restore method. Keeps everything including Whatsapp conversation.

Definitely more reliable than restoring from iCloud backup as it is a direct transfer from old device.

I think you will be offered to check for software update when you're setting up ? otherwise, just simple speed through the setup, update the software, then reset it

you can try this:

from QWERTY, press on the symbol key and drag to the symbol you want and then release. Once release, you will be back to your QWERTY keyboard
