bring a tape measure to tv shop.
measure out 2.75m from 65" display set and view it.
then go buy a 90" tv.

Buy small TV. Sit closer. Save money.

Seriously, 65 for 3m is fine.

I use a 43" 4K as my monitor. So there u go. I like the desktop screen estate. Can open multiple windows and CAD drawings.

Back then during FHD resolution era, yes.

Those big ass >55-65 TV are mean for further viewing distance and big living room.

But as TV now gone into 4K era, things no longer get pixelated even viewing within few meter distance only. Even small living room can use 65” TV easily nowadays

65 inch is not big at that distance.

If your max budget is 65 inch, no choice just buy the 65 inch.

But trust me you will regret for not buying a bigger TV every time you sit and watch TV.

In my opinion, for living room, regardless of what the guide says, go 1 size up. So if it says 55", then go for 58" or 65".

Because the recommended size is for you to watch right in front of the TV, in the middle. 1 size up will cater for those time when you view sideways, or other position in the room.

There's no too big for TV, only bigger.

You better worry if your media content is of high enough resolution to display on big TV. If you can get FHD or 4k contents, all will still appear nice.

i own a 65".

my sitting position is 20ft (end-to-end wall).
but sometimes i also lie on the bean bag @ 10ft.

no issue on 'eyes moving left and right'.

you'll get used to it quite fast and soon will be wondering
if it's better to get 85" instead.

2.75 get 55 better TS, else ur bigger screen is wasted too coz ur human eyes cant view so widely in this short distance

also if sony 55'' , better get x900h, if want cheaper option than it, dont get sony , other brands are more worthy

X80H is IPS. LCD also can be IPS, not just VA
*
Ohh noo i thought is VA , then X8000H will definitely out from my wanted list haha, will never get IPS tv because my current pc monitor is acer predator IPS screen, the backlight bleed watching dark scene movie really spoils the view.

Hey u got a similar dilemma I had last week, I have a similar distance about 9feet sofa to TV. At the end I got 55inch cos dun have 65 inch for the model I want. And now I regret.... 55 is not small but for the distance 65 would be perfect

Yup, for a dark room, must buy VA panel as the black will be really black. If IPS must use in a well lit room aa the black will turn grey in dark room.

I have 65 in my room, sitting 3m away, and I felt like it was a bit too small

I have an 86 for my living room, sitting 3.5m away, a tad too big

you should definitely go 65 for 2.75m and 70 should be perfect for 3m

also, go OLED, even if it is a 2018 or 2019 model year with shit OS and shit processor, because it will beat LED anytime even if it's a full array and with fancy filters in front of it

I sit on sofa 18' away from my 75" 4K tv still can watch perfectly clear, but still quite bright for me if not dim it.

Bro, I sit about 2m away from my 65 inch. It's comfortable and I can see the benefit of having a 4K screen.

For you, since you sit further away at 2.75m, get a 75 inch la.

oh, local dimming really makes huge diff?
*
Unless you go for OLED, normal LED TV cannot give you true black, you need local dimming to actually darken the screen selectively enough to perceive blackness.

Some TV have some sort of dimming, but those are usually edge dimming (because they are edge lighted), those cannot give the granularity darkening of local dimming, and those are actually best avoided, or turn off.
